September 15, 2014 at 8:41 pm #201340Hello everyone,
Just installed Joomla 3.3.3 on a new website I’m building. I downloaded and tried installing Mitius it’s not installing? I keep getting an error message:
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file
Now I thought this error message shows up if you are trying to install something Not compatible with the Joomla version your using. I thought I read that JA Mitius was updated and compatible with Joomla 3.3 – does this not include Jv3.3.3?
Thanks.
I suppose I should also say that all system requirements are in place.

September 15, 2014 at 9:37 pm #549605Hello TomC,
Yes I did try that and I just tried again. Keep getting: Path does not have a valid package error message.
Maybe I am doing something wrong? I am unzipping the package and FTPing the ja_mitius folder and all it’s contents.

Are you uploading the file contents to your public_html file on your server account (or whatever home/primary file your web host designates)? See STEPS 1-4 –> HERE[/url">

September 15, 2014 at 10:05 pm #549612I should also mention that I am not using the Extension Manager.
So I did not download the entire contents of JaMitius. I did not download the quickstart, extention manager, kunena theme nor the source files. When I unzip the contents of what I did download I have the module, plugin, and template folders (all of which contain zip files). I am placing them in the tmp folder and trying to install from there.
What I just did was extract the template only zip file and uploaded that (ja_mitius.v1.1.0.zip) which worked. All this work for a template I don’t even know if I will use. Oh boy!

September 15, 2014 at 10:06 pm #549613Maybe try the quickstart + sample data installation process . . . see how that works for you.
😎
My personal preference is the FTP method (as described in the previously linked tutorial).
However, there’s also THIS METHOD if you wish.1 user says Thank You to TomC for this useful post
