    Hi,

Is it my idea, or when I make changes on the default language, at the already translated items and I run translate again, they are not updated to the rest of the languages?

I have seen this problems with Modules and VM Categories.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

yes, JA Multilingual component does not update the translated items, because we do not want your translation is lost.

    Hi Dead Code,

Maybe you did not understand my question.
I need to translate again only the articles, modules, etc I change. When I make a change in an article, I need to retranslate it to all the languages. Reason? Updates. ie:
I have a slideshow that shows some offers that are valid during Halloween and I change them to offers valid for Christmas.
    or
I have an article with the site’s terms of use and some of them are changed, or more are added, so I need to update the translation to the rest of the languages to reflect the changes.

The way the extension works now, I need to do all these manually, however you could have an option that when it is enabled, that process would check the modification date and when the translations are outdated it would perform them again overwriting the existing ones.

I hope I made my point.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

    Yes, I got your point.
Re-Translating the modified items is nice and useful feature, since it can help you do not need manually update for another language when you have a new update in item of default language. But it is also a difficult task, since we are not sure if you have updated your items in other language (correct translation, update image in content for individual language). So if we update their content, user’s updates will be lost. Do you get my point?

I’ll discuss developer team of JA Multilingual for more detail about this issue, and if able we will release it as an option in upcoming versions, so you can select to update or not your items when translating.

    Hi Dead Code,

Thanks for your reply. If you check the modification date and have an option of it, I believe it is safe.
A good idea would be to also have an option to review and confirm each change. For sure it would take longer, but this way is absolutely safe and takes far less time to do it manually. Default language and second language only would suffice, just for the changed items.

Looking forward to the developers’ reply.
