I need to have a contact form that I see on the demo but it is hidden on an accordion and requires the user to click on a button to open. I want the form to send the email to the administrator. I have tried every mail type option on the site configuration page but they all fail and say that ‘Could not start mail function.’

What am I doing wrong and how can I remove the drop down to get to the form? I Just want the form to appear. I am really confused about the contact manager (Contacts). Can we simplify it?

Hi William,

To have that accordion option, you can access admin panel > Menus > Main menu (or the menu that ‘Contact’ menu item page belongs to) > open ‘Contact’ menu item > and change the Display Format to Sliders : http://prntscr.com/id63tj

For the mail function, you go to Global Configuration > Server tab and use the test mail function: http://prntscr.com/id6542 to see if it works or not. I guess it relates to your server side settings.

Thank you for your advice.

I have the contact form up and it is sending email correctly.

The text in the address field is being display and so is the field label ‘Address’. How can I remove this label for just this contact?

AND

How are the fields on the form being selected?

Hi William,

You can remove the ‘Address’ text via this file: root/templates/ja_edenite_ii/html/com_contact/contact/default_address.php

For other info of contact form, you can check in: root/templates/ja_edenite_ii/html/com_contact/contact/

And customize as you wish.
