    Hello,

I have a problem with ja-news 1.2, I’ve implemented it in the Rochea template and it works perfectly on localhost and on another site on the same server  but on the site I want to use it on I’m just getting a page where nothing is displayed except the header, I’ve tried removing all other modules/mambots to see if there’s a conflict but that didn’t help.

I’ve even tried the older versions of this module and with 1.1 & 1.12 which work fine on another site on the same server, but on this one I had the problem where only the first news item would load (I tried changing all relevant file permissions & ownership).

Now I’ve run out of ideas :((

    the url is here: http://www.lost-in-france.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=455&Itemid=392

    my error log shows:
PHP Warning: main() [<a href=’function.main’>function.main</a>]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/ja_news/common.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/httpdocs:/tmp) in /modules/mod_janews.php on line 4
PHP Warning: main(ja_news/common.php) [<a href=’function.main’>function.main</a>]: failed to open stream: Operation not permitted in /var/www/vhosts/me/httpdocs/modules/mod_janews.php on line 4
PHP Fatal error: main() [<a href=’function.require’>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required ‘ja_news/common.php’ (include_path=’.:’) in /modules/mod_janews.php on line

I got the page without any content, but no error messages. After refreshing the page 2 times the content appeared. I think your scrolling text in the header might be causing the problem. Try removing the script that is scrolling the text.

Hi, The scroller is on the home page only, it’s the default joomla newsflash that’s on the link but I tried removing both, clearing cache etc but it still wouldn’t load at all for me in either FireFox or IE.

How about setting a diffrent page as the home page? Try that and see if it helps.

    Tried that but no difference.

I hate to say this, but as of right now I am at a loss as what might be causing the problem.
I will give it some more thought and post more suggestions if I can think of something.

Ok I’ve after 2 days of trying to make it work I’ve given up on version 1.2 and have installed version 1.12 but now I have the problem where only the first headline will load.
I’ve tried altering all the file permissions for the module to 777, 775, 666 etc but it made no difference. Help
