Got the same problem. I am using the 1.2 Beta version.
Any help?August 17, 2007 at 4:52 pm #227305Is there any kind of support here?
I think that once you paid…
August 19, 2007 at 1:52 am #227416I have found the followng:
in IE6 after first transaction the font style changes to bold and it also looks like black edges on the read me link. This doesn’t happen in opera or FF … not sure about IE7 …
Also if you change the headline text to a space so it won’t display it defaults back to ‘headline’ each time to change something in the module.
Also the control graphics images don’t render well, so i cleaned them up, they look fine it FF, but in IE6 they inherit a blue background. weird
This is an awesome module guys, keep up the good work
August 19, 2007 at 11:52 am #227491Do you know where could find the JA News module in order to download it?
Ok i found it, it was very simple, sorry 🙁
August 21, 2007 at 1:19 pm #227693I’ve payed for templates but actually i can’t download ja news. I installed the versione 1.1 which is present in the ja_teline_quick_start.zip, why i can’t download the new version?
August 22, 2007 at 6:48 am #227794i’ve found the download. But the problem is that i can see only 1 news in headline, the other doesn’t work….
The problem is located at row 62 of janews.js:
xmlhttp.send(null);August 22, 2007 at 9:10 am #227805did you try and put in all the category numbers you want to display? That might help. And also all the news that you want to appear in the headline must be published to show on the front page too..
August 22, 2007 at 1:27 pm #227837yes, i’ve tried to use the category id and i’ve the articles published in home page but the rotation system does not work.
August 24, 2007 at 7:48 pm #228086My rotation wouldn’t work either. I did all the checks I could think of, disabled modules, mambots, etc. In the end, my user permissions needed to be set to 644 on the php files in the Ja_news directory. That fixed it for me.
August 25, 2007 at 5:47 am #228112I don’t get a “show more” link in the headlines on my site. (http://www.rockridgeresidents.org). No idea why, only option that I see in the module positions is the “Show readmore” which I obviously set to “Show”.
Any clues?

Hello, I just had a look at your site and I think you just need to change the height of the module as it looks from here that the read more is hidden in the overflow. Try changing “Headline Fixed Height” to 0.

Thanks for the quick response. If I do that, it shows the entire article on the front page, then puts the “read more” link at the bottom (which is silly since there’s nothing more to actually read).
Am I doing sometihng else wrong?

If publishing news content you have two text fields: one for the intro text and one for the main text.
The intro text is the text that is supposed to show up in the news module. If of course you publish ALL content in the intro text field then the whole text will appear as intro. Check your content items …

I shall now crawl back into my newbie hole and hide.
Thanks *very* much for pointing this out, it is greatly appreciated.
