I should have explained.. most of the menu items on the main menu bar are just place holders They don’t function. The site isn’t really messed up it just isn’t finished…lol
The contact form you are seeing is temporary. The Joomla site is being developed at http://www.accesscapitalsc.com/index.php
…most of the temporary menus are “URL Link menu items” as place holders. For the URL I used “#” So, if you click on those menu items Joomla sends you back to the index.html page by default which is the contact form. I hope that makes sense.. even although its confusing its not directly related to the issue I’m having because…
If you look at the The Market Data Menu- it is setup in the correct Joomla structure. This is the section that I am using for JA News. The section is named “Market Data” and there are several (4) categories within that section. Manufacturing, Healthcare, Technology, and Telecom.
Until we get our real content I moved some of the sample template articles into these categories within the Market Data section.
So, for example if you look at the JA News module on the home page… The sample story “Feel the Vibe, Literally,” is in the Market Data section under the “Technology” category.
If I click on the category title “Technology” it takes me to the article and the breadcrumbs are correct..
Home>Market Data> Technology
But, if I click on “read more” for the “Feel the Vibe, Literally,” story I get taken to the article with the weird bread crumbs. Even though the article is in the correct structure.
I hope this helps clarify why the site behaves the way it does. But as I said, the articles/setup that I’m using for JA NEWS are correct.
I would really appreciate you checking in my backend. What is the best way to send you my login info?
Thanks

March 28, 2008 at 2:45 am #243413You can PM me but to be honest with you I am creating a wedding website for my daughter right now. She is getting married in August and we just decided to do this so I am pretty busy with hers and mine. I will try to take a look asap. 🙂

March 29, 2008 at 1:12 am #243513eventive – Please make a menu tree of how you would like your menu to be and post it here. I will then go back and try to fix what you have done. There are some areas of your menu that shouldn’t be there at all. With an idea of what you intended I should be able to correct those areas. But I will most likely need to recreate those areas for everything to make sense.
April 7, 2008 at 9:17 pm #244748thank you for your help. sorry I disappeared. I had a family emergency. I received the actual content structure for the site at the end of last week.
By putting in real content and setting up my own sections and categories the problem has mostly worked itself out.
I no longer get the Joomla default link in the bread crumbs. I do still get “blog” on some of the artices e.g. “Growth Depends on Overcoming Negative Images” article.
just a warning if you look at the structure.. I needed to create the “illusion” of more levels than what joomla allows. For example if you look at the “Research” menu item.. both the “Research” link and the “biotechnology” links are static url links (with JA news modules imitating category pages) so that I could have more levels eg. Agriculture is a Section and “horticulture” and “livestock” are categories.
Thanks
