What level of membership is required to download this version of the ja news module?
I am a template club member and when I try to download it, I am told it is only available to template club members???
Interesting ….jimg Friendjimg

June 14, 2007 at 5:02 am #222126I would also like to know the answer to this question.
I d/l’ed – installed the Quillaja quickstart and found that it did not include the updated ja_news and ja_newsflash modules (mod_janews 1.1.1 – mod_janewsflash 1.0.0) .
Also concerning – the ja_newsflash module was updated (re: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja-newsflash-bug/) but the version number stayed the same. I
The club templates download section (http://www.joomlart.com/downloads/cat/joomlart_club_templates/ja_quillaja/ja_news_module.html) offers the JA news module version 1.0 – but provides 1.1.1 .
The updated JA news module 1.1.3 (http://www.joomlart.com/downloads/cat/joomlart_club_extensions/ja_news/ja_news_1.1.3/ja_news_documentation.html) is unavailable to template club members. And the “downgrade to 1.1.0 advice” provided in http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/headline-bug-2/ is a link to the 1.1.1 version.
Yes – I can hack the headlineloader.php file – but that’s a workaround, no?
Is there a single repository that template club subscribers have been granted rights to download the latest modules being used by the templates?

June 14, 2007 at 5:29 am #222127Access is only granted to Extensions Club Members and Developer members.
June 14, 2007 at 7:13 am #222134Thanks for the clarification as to who can download. However, I would like to know something about the newer version, so that I could make an informed decision as to whether I should upgrade my membership.
Is there any way of finding out what extensions are available to Extension Club members, what the advanced or added functionalities are?
Many thanks.jimg Friendjimg

June 14, 2007 at 1:32 pm #222150<blockquote>Access is only granted to Extensions Club Members and Developer members</blockquote>
While this may sound forward from a new member — Can I ask why?
I purchased a subscription to receive quality template solutions – and such solutions include modules. If the modules have bugs, am I not entitled to receive updates to ensure that the template solution works as displayed?
Right now, as a template club subscriber, the only way to get ja quillaja working as shown in the demo is by hacking headlineloader.php as instructed by another subscriber (which I am thankful for).
This ja-news issue isn’t listed in the read me / bug report (http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja-quillaja-readme-and-bug-report/) and no official workaround is posted – leaving each one of us members to expend effort experiencing the bug, researching the problem, finding the solution & hacking the file / finding the latest version. Sure, we all can do this, but why should we? We’ve paid for a quality product, fully expect bugs to creep into the process, and deserve an official response in a timely manner on what bugs exist and how one resolves such bugs so we can deploy our sites in a production environment.
If a fix is available for ja news with 1.1.3 (note: v1.1.2 from http://www.joomlart.com/downloads/cat/joomlart_club_templates/ja_teline/ja_news_for_ja_teline.html still requires the headlineloader.php edit to work properly), why not make it available?

June 14, 2007 at 10:23 pm #222180I have to agree with jimg above. If the template has these specific modules INCLUDED in the original template I can only assume it is part of the original purchase. If the template did not include those modules (but let’s say the demo did), then I could completely understand an upcharge for the additional modules.
I see where Joomlart could argue the case the we are purchasing the templates, not the modules. If that is the case, and certainly their right, then the modules should not be included in the original download.
I think some clarification on this would be helpful for all the Joomlart members. I really like these templates and plan to continue using them. It would just be helpful to fully understand what is and is not “included” in the template club…
Thanks!

When available, can you provide a link to d/l the updated ja-news module that works with ja quillaja?
Thank you!

June 18, 2007 at 9:33 pm #222343I need the update. Ja News echoes “Arraycontentname, content, content” just after Readmore.

June 19, 2007 at 7:14 pm #222403I don’t see an official update yet, but Chinaman posted a workaround in http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/wierd-problem-in-ja-news/
Specifically, he mentioned that this worked for him (and worked for me as well).
your results may vary 😉in modules/ja_news/headlineloader.php

June 23, 2007 at 3:41 am #222620Well, I thought I may as well join the Extensions Club, mainly to get ja-news 1.1.3
Dowmloaded, installed, and STILL exhibits same fault referenced in post above.
Will this be fixed?
MIND YOU, the improved ja-submit was worth the joining fee, as will be some of the othersha le-viet Developerha le-viet
