Any updates on when the new version of JA News 2 is coming out?

Not sure what do you mean under new version, but in Teline III 1.4.1 package JA News 2 is included with following files upadated:
mod_janews2helper.php
mod_janews2jaimage.php
mod_janews2mod_janews2.xml

One of the JA admins had written awhile back saying they were working on speeding up JA News 2. I thought they said sometime this month.
