January 26, 2013 at 10:09 pm #184405JA News – the Default Layout, has not updated in DAYS. I have cleared the JAT3 cache several times. I have the module set for No Caching. Nothing changes, in spite of new articles getting published every day.
Any suggestions?

I checked JA NewsFeatured module and see it’s working with cache 900 minutes. So that i changed it to 20 minutes. Please kindly check and let me know if its still not updated.

Her0:
Thank you so much for taking a look at that. After my mea culpas below, I have one more issue with the module.
I really did not know that the time was set for minutes. I turned off caching entirely for the module. Our server is on an SSD now, so I am less concerned with caching, and it is very important for us to have front page news update ASAP.
The other admittedly dumb thing I did was enable browser caching in the Joomla caching plugin. I did not understand the consequences of that at all. Even after I turned off caching, even after I cleared the cache on the server, I saw still seeing content from previous days, even the date at the top of the page (top-left) varied depending on the browser I used.
I really don’t know how to tell all of our readers all over the world to clear their browser caches. We just have to wait this one out. That was my mistake entirely.
The only remaining problem I can see on the home page is under LAW AND ORDER: Local Police Reports. That one column has not updated since January 19. Would you mind taking another look, Her0?
And thank you again! Any suggestions toward encouraging our readers to clear their caches are also welcome. :-[

January 31, 2013 at 7:17 am #481795Hi Frodojrr,
Please check out JA Newspro module setting http://prntscr.com/r1gij . You could see it is set not display Featured articles .
When 2 new articles are featured http://prntscr.com/r1gmn . If you change those to normal articles or change setting of the module to display Featured articles then your issue will be resolved.
Hope this help.Regards

Thank you so much! It works! Of course. The problem was me throwing the wrong switches…
One more…
Where can I edit the CSS so this overflow does not happen?

Found it!
ja_teline_iv>html>mod_janewspro>default>style.css
Changed
.ja-zinwrap.default {
background: #fff
border: 1px solid #ccc
border-top: 0;
margin: 2px;
}to
.ja-zinwrap.default {
background: #fff
border: 1px solid #ccc
border-top: 0;
margin: 2px;
overflow: hidden !important;
}Works! 😀
