January 5, 2014 at 2:50 pm #193489I hope this article clearly describes the problems I’m having setting up Teline iv on Joomla 3.2. http://gpm3beta1-2014.globalprintmonitor.info/index.php/editorial/publishing/1086-test-of-ja-thumbnail-on-remote-image
Any help would be appreciated.

January 5, 2014 at 11:24 pm #517408Question …. When you installed your template, did you do so utilizing the quickstart + sample data installation process?

January 5, 2014 at 11:55 pm #517417Hi Tom, Yes I used Quickstart to install and loaded the sample data. However, I created new menu items rather than renaming the existing.

January 6, 2014 at 9:00 am #517489JA Thumbnail plugin doesn’t support to resize external images – this is really hard to control. You should import these images to your site instead.

January 6, 2014 at 1:29 pm #517529Why does automatically making thumbnails on my Teline 2 (Joomla 1.5) work perfectly but I cannot reliably do the same with the Teline iv template? I have used Teline 2 since it came out on news portals with tens of thousands of articles, mostly with remote images.
This thread on the Joomla Forum might be related to my problem(s) ?
Joomla 3.2.1 Quickstart – File Attributes
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=707&t=830993&p=3124443#p3124443Also, as I described in the article: JA Thumnails seems to work OK here on J2.5 + Teline iv test site http://t.co/zrKzw5opcx Note the use of /cache/

January 6, 2014 at 2:19 pm #517536Could you check again? Teline 2 Joomla! 1.5 doesn’t include JA Thumbnail plugin by default. You can have a quick check via download section of JA Teline 2.

January 6, 2014 at 2:50 pm #517540I use JA News 1.3.1 on all section/category pages in Teline 2. See http://www.globalprintmonitor.info/ All images are resized to 60×60 below the leading article. Many of these images are remote.
See: http://www.globalprintmonitor.info/index.php/en/editorial/analogue-printing for a mixture of local and remote resized images.

January 6, 2014 at 7:19 pm #517563I can’t get remote images to be resized in JA Featured News either. See http://gpm3beta1-2014.globalprintmonitor.info/index.php and scroll down to SPORT and click on Football. The resized, but blank, image URL is:
What have I done to get such a URL?
Correction: I mean JA Newspro, not JA Featured.

January 6, 2014 at 9:58 pm #517576From tests today I have come to the conclusion that:
JA News Featured does handle resizing of remote images, but JA News Pro and JA Thumbnail don’t, at least on my test setup at: http://gpm3beta1-2014.globalprintmonitor.info/
I suspect it is something I have done incorrectly but so far am none the wiser. Cannot use Teline iv on a news portal which is odd as that’s its purpose.

January 7, 2014 at 9:43 am #517647Hi again,
For JA Thumbnail plugin:
You can PM me admin credentials of your site which uses JA Teline 2 in Joomla 1.5, I will check whether it’s using JA Thumbnail or not.
For JA News Pro module:
Please try to update the latest version of this module, some images have incorrect links that they can’t be displayed in your site now.

January 9, 2014 at 10:51 am #517920Your previous site runs with JA Teline 2, images are resized via configuration of JA News module, not JA Thumbnail plugin: http://prntscr.com/2hssme
Regarding to problem of images in JA News Pro module in your new site (JA TelineIV – Joomla 2.5), you should add image into article via Images and Links option in backend settings of each article: http://prntscr.com/2hst1c (in order to have this option, you go to Article Manager Options > Editting Layout and enable option Administrator Images and Links)
Please try to insert images into articles displaying in JA News Pro module this way and let me know how it goes.

January 9, 2014 at 3:41 pm #517939The site is not Joomla 2.5. Site Info: Joomla! 3.2.1 Stable [ Ember ] 18-December-2013 14:30 GMT
Using Images and links makes no difference whatsoever except that the image align left is lost. http://gpm3beta1-2014.globalprintmonitor.info/Shouldn’t the alignment that an editor sets manually when posting override any other defaults? I mean in the full article view.

January 9, 2014 at 5:09 pm #517945Incidentally, JA Thumbnail in “auto” mode works perfectly with remote images in articles. I disable it because our editors prefer to place images in articles in the usual way. Maybe “disable” in JA Tumbnails is being misunderstood by other JA modules? However all the problems that I describe remain when I select “auto”.
Correction: The site where I observe that “auto” works fine is another local MAMP server test I have been playing with today. The main article image(s) appear in a thumbnail (200px wide v 400px. The template is from the quickstart install JA Teline IV T3 for J3.2 (24.13 MB). It seems to generate a surfeit of templates which I don’t see on the other test site which was installed from quickstart jatc_teline_iv_j32.zip Note these are different!! The frontpage article on the T3 site demo is titled: Joomla 2.5 template wins the play-off whereas the other is entitled Joomla 3.x template wins the play-off. Both sites are: Joomla! 3.2.1 Stable [ Ember ] 18-December-2013 14:30 GMT

January 9, 2014 at 7:29 pm #517949>:( Why on earth should one be obliged to use the “Images and Links” method of selecting twice the same image for intro and main article? Then the selected image doesn’t even appear in the edit window!! Then you have to use another method to enter any further images. Please explain what this methodology is supposed to achieve.
