May 22, 2013 at 11:13 pm #187704I am unable to change the settings of JA News Featured in my admin panel. Thought the problem might be the version, so I just updated to the latest release, 2.5.3.
I want to change the “Articles Sorted By:” section from Date to Ordering.
When I make the change and click any Save button, nothing happens. I click Close and re-open the module’s config section, and see that nothing changed. Articles are still sorted by Date.
Just found this happens with JA News – Default Layout also. Can’t edit anything in the admin panel.
Anyone else see this?
Other modules work fine for me. Permissions are fine.

Pls try to clean T3 cache & Joomla cache in Site >> Maintenance.
Just found this happens with JA News – Default Layout also. Can’t edit anything in the admin panel.

I will give you better solution when you can send me PM with your admin login info (also backend url).Leo

I see you logged on and did an upgrade of JA News Featured. I want to thank you for that.
You also saw, no doubt, that the module’s settings still will not update from the Admin page.
Is there a file I can edit on the server so I can change some settings?

Is there a file I can edit on the server so I can change some settings?

Yes. Pls login to your server & check out the permissions to all files in modules/mod_janews_featured/admin/japrofile/
Make sure that they are set with 644 permisions, the folder 775. Because I still got error message:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)

* Don’t forget to inform me your result.

Sending you a PM with cPanel access.

May 31, 2013 at 2:54 am #494398Pls, anyone: Is there a file I can edit on the server so I can change some settings?
I searched PHPMyAdmin and was able to change one setting: successfully changed “Articles Sorted By” to “ordering.”
Need to change “Autoplay” to “Yes.” Where can I do that in PHPMyAdmin?
Here’s PHPMyAdmin’s settings:
{“moduleclass_sfx”:”-xxxxxx”,”source”:”JANewsHelper”,”catsid”:[“”],”k2catsid”:[“”],”getChildren”:”1″,”featured”:”only”,”ordering”:”ordering”,”sort_order”:”DESC”,”profile”:”default”,”JPlugins”:”1″,”K2Plugins”:”1″,”cache”:”1″,”cache_time”:”4″}
What can I change there so the module autoplays?

June 6, 2013 at 8:53 am #494990Hi,

What can I change there so the module autoplays?

The settings of JA News Pro module is located in profiles (modulesmod_janews_featuredprofiles).
i. e (Profile teline iv):{"themes":"telineiv","animType":"animNewsMoveHor","duration":"500","autoplay":"1","autoplay_duration":"10000","numberofheadlinenews":"14","bigitems":"1","bigmaxchars":"250","smallmaxchars":"80","showhlreadmore":"1","showtooltip":"1","thumbnail_mode":"crop","use_ratio":"1","bigshowimage":"1","bigimg_w":"412","bigimg_h":"230","smallshowimage":"1","smallimg_w":"128","smallimg_h":"128","align":"0"}
And I’m sorry for my late response. Can you send me your valid ftp account for correcting JA News Pro module issue (Can’t save) ?
I couldn’t access the cpanel account that you sent me.
Thanks !Leo

July 3, 2013 at 9:57 am #497803Hi frodojrr,
The issue is caused by the rules in your .htaccess file which make all urls redirecting to our JA News Featured module not accessible. :
RewriteRule ^(components|modules|templates|images|plugins|media|libraries|media/jui/fonts)/ - [F]
The solution: Put our extra rule in this .htaccess file:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www.enewspf.com/modules/mod_janews_featured/admin/japrofile/helper.php$ [NC]
Now you can save the JA News Featured module as usual. Pls check it out.
