It looks like JA News and JA News FP are adding whitespace by adding additional linebreaks to text appearing in entries.

Here’s a sample of where it’s happening:

Under the entry “Citi Field debt downgraded by Moody’s because of Mets-Madoff connection” in the fp module, take a look at the intro text:

“More bad news for Fred Wilpon and Saul Katz : debt of Citi Field has been downgraded by Moody’s

Note the space between “Katz” and the colon. That’s not in the original article text. It’s also not appearing on the article page itself:

It only seems to be happening in the two news modules.

Hi Pdxmph,

Your problem is due to ja news fp and ja news 2 module use SmartTrim class to get introtext include html tags with maxchars. We will update it on latest version of janews fp and janews 2 modules.

This issue http://pm.joomlart.com/browse/JAECMODJANEWSFP-34 has been fixed already. However, 2 modules janews fp and janews have not been released yet. I will get back to you after getting more info.

I hate to nag, but is there any ETA? This is affecting a client’s site and they’d like a fix. Barring the update being released soon, is there any way I can get access to an older version and roll it back?
