February 13, 2010 at 5:04 pm #148650I installed the Teline III v1.4 (j1.5.15) with the Quickstart package and all is like the demo 🙂
The FrontPage News does not Auto Roll, so I checked into the module advanced settings and saw it is ‘on’ by default with a 5 second rolling delay.
I tried toggling the ‘on/off’ and varied the time settings, but it still does not work
How do I get this feature to work? Do I need to edit the module code somewhere?
TIA

February 14, 2010 at 12:36 pm #332686Hi,
This didn’t work for me. I edited the articles on the front page with the joomla html editor with the <p> code you suggested, but the code is automatically changed to this after Updating the html.
<p> </p>
<p><img class=”caption” src=”images/stories/demo/world/rs-1.jpg” border=”0″ alt=”Sample image” title=”Sample image” align=”left” /></p>
<p>Consequat ante ac ut sit vel molestie hendrerit et mollis Vestibulum. Laoreet leo ac pretium augue dolor nunc Sed tempor libero at. Gravida id malesuada Nulla enim enim nibh Nam vitae platea lacinia.</p>
<p> </p>
<hr id=”system-readmore” />I’m not sure it is possible to have nested <p> tags like you suggested.
Can you tell me how I can make this code edit work.
Thanks

February 16, 2010 at 12:16 pm #332845I’ve been looking at some of the SOTM sites that use Teline III and I don’t see any that show a rolling news feature with JA News FrontPage. I see some are using JA SlideShow for this effect instead.
What does the Auto Roll option parameter in FrontPage actually do? I didn’t find anything much about it in the user guide.

February 16, 2010 at 2:20 pm #332865Dear
Here is a example :
<p><img class=”caption” src=”images/stories/demo/health/diet-4.jpg” border=”0″ alt=”Sample image” title=”Sample image” align=”left” /></p>
<p>Proin augue Donec non nascetur congue dolor dignissim Aenean Duis consectetuer. Justo Vestibulum porta et pellentesque justo quis Vestibulum in wisi Donec.</p>
<hr id=”system-readmore” />You should install the quickstart and try to look the HTML format of article

February 16, 2010 at 6:56 pm #332898Okay, I’ve figured this one out.
The <p> tag formatting was not the problem. I corrected all the spurious p tags introduced by the first suggestion of nested p’s! The standard demo display still did not auto roll.
The clue was in the ‘hover over tooltip’ on the Auto Roll parameter label – [rolls headline articles]. The way the Teline III quickstart is set, is with the telineiii_fp.php Layout Style parameter selected. Change this to the headline_fp.php layout style – and guess what, it works, but in a different style.
I was expecting the standard demo layout to auto roll – but I can live with the alternative slide show auto roll.
Hope this helps others.
