I’ve searched on here for the answer but can’t find it, so sorry to ask the question again…

Is there a bug with JA News module version 1.2.1 from the template zip ?

My JA News settings are set as per the user guide, but the content does not appear in the Headline area.

In Modules make sure you have BOTH JA Frontpage and JA News modules…and make sure BOTH are enabled.

Looks like you are missing the “JA Frontpage” module.

Thanks John, but the “JA Frontpage” module does not come as part of JA Dravity and I can’t find it as a seperate download. I’ve tried a version from JA Teline II, but the installer won’t accept it.

Any ideas?

It’s part of the whole JA News Extension package.
It’s also in Ja Teline II ‘s download package.

There should be NO reason why the Joomla Installer won’t accept it…other than perhaps you are using a Parent zip file. Have to tried to open the zip to see if there are some little zips hiding inside? That’s probably your issue. You need to get down to the individual zip files. Joomla won’t separate a group of zips all zipped up.

I’ve uninstalled the “JA News” module and tried to re-install the version supplied with JA Taline and I get an error message…

Unrecoverable error “PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10)”

I got the same message when trying to install the “JA Frontpage” module before (when the JA Dravity version of “JA News” was installed).

It will let me re-install the “JA News” module that comes with JA Dravity though – even though the files are the same in the JA Teline and JA Dravity versions.

I’m confused 🙁

😎 HOWEVER….before you get discouraged...and you travel down that dark hole…one thing I would try before I headed off into the “solutions”…. Have you tried to do a Full Install of Ja – Teline and get it working….and THEN switch the template to Dravity. As least then we would know we have good JA NEWS and JA FRONTPAGE and can then work out whatever bugs may then appear and need swatting.
