February 5, 2009 at 12:29 pm #137817Hi,
Thanks for a very nice template – JA Vauxite!
I’m using the ja-news module on the Home page — as in your demo template — and I noticed that when in Menus/magazin, if I change the basic parameters Column setting from 2 to 1, it makes the display of news sections on the Home page change to 1-column.
How can I have my category/blog or section/blog pages display in a single column instead of the standard 1-leading/2-column format, but still display ja-news in a 2-column format on the Home page?
Thanks in advance for your help,
railer

February 5, 2009 at 12:54 pm #289710I changed the column settings back to 2-column, but it didn’t fix the problem. Now it seems as though JA News is only displaying 1 section block, instead of four different section blocks. And I’ve noticed that changing the JA News 1.3.1 module setting “Group by Category or Section” to “Section” affects whether that single item will display or not. (Changing it to “Category” causes it to dissappear.)
I’m going to look more closely at the JA Vauxite User Guide…

February 5, 2009 at 2:30 pm #289723Thanks for your reply akwasi_c,
I tried creating more articles as you suggested and by itself, that did not fix the problem. But your mention of “section” made me think, so I checked my JA News module settings again, trying some different settings. It turns out that I had my article “category” numbers in there, instead of the “section” numbers — and I had checked the “Section” radio button. Changing the numbers in “Category (Section) ID” to the “Section” ID numbers fixed the problem.
Am I correct to assume that if I check “Category” (instead of “Section”) under “Group By Category or Section” that I would need to enter only “Category” ID numbers in the “Category (Section) ID” and that the module would work?
Oh, as far as my original question…
I’ve found out that the number of columns in JA News on the frontpage are managed from within the module’s settings, whereas the number of columns on each category or section bog page are managed from within the specific menu item’s parameter column settings.
Thanks for indirectly nudging me toward the solution,
