Hello,
I’m using Joomla 1.5, And when I try to use the JA News module in a section other than the frontpage, it won’t show at all.
If I set it to appear in the frontpage, it works. But when I want it to show in only one section… it vanishes.
Thanks in advance for your support.

Maybe i don’t undertand your question.
Please let me in detail, if possible, your live url ?February 23, 2009 at 5:08 am #292958Well,
The url is http://rednet.flacso.edu.mx/ and the section I want JAnews to appear is:
http://rednet.flacso.edu.mx/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=22&Itemid=9
Thanks

February 23, 2009 at 5:18 am #292961Hi zurdo
When you create the new section/category you then need to open the JA News module (via the Module Manager) and make sure that the Section ID number is included in the parameters area:
For instance, if your new category is in section ID number ’13’ then it should appear in the list like above:
13:red
Here is where you also assign the colour to the JA News module for each section. These colours can then be modified to what you want by editing the .css files.
Hope this helps.
ChrisFebruary 23, 2009 at 5:26 am #292962Thanks, but, that is already asigned in the parameters.
As I said before, I do can publish it to the frontpage, but not to a section/category/article view.

February 23, 2009 at 5:40 am #292964Hi zurdo
Very strange!
Did you also set the Menu Assignment in the JA News module to ‘All’ or your specific missing section/category:
February 23, 2009 at 7:10 am #292970Yes I did. And it didn’t work.
February 28, 2009 at 5:35 pm #293936What happens is that the ja-news module position is seen only on the front page – this is handled by the template index.php code.
To have a different news-module per section I have added another module position I called it:
“ja-news-content” and added it like this:
At index.php file of the template at line 191:
<div id=”jazin-fp”>
<jdoc:include type=”modules” name=”ja-news-content” style=”raw” />
</div>thats it for now – I am still working on my site but I guess thats what you wanted – now copy the news-module for each section you need put it in the new module position – to be seen when the menu for that section is clicked.
