Hi,
I have the ja news module installed and published to the ja-news module position as per the instructions. But whatever I try, the module does not appear. The pages does not show module at all.
have a look at http://www.networkgulf.com/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,144/
I started with the older version and also tried upgrading it without any success. I also tried to publish the module to the other locations without any success. But when I enable ‘show title’ in module settings, the tile alone shows in the other module locations.
I feel that the module is not able to pickup the items published to the front page and is not displayed because it is empty. Another point to note is that my ‘home’ link in the mail menu is item 144(not item1). any idea if this can cause any problems? Can somebody tell me wnat I am doing wrong?

Remove or add ID’s ind the line called “Category ID”
Remember the comma. (,)

Thanks for the reply. However my problem is not of being able to display the categories. The module itself does not get displayed in the front page.
I have created a module position called ja-news and published the module to that position. It does not get displayed at all. Even if I do not specify any categories, the front page content should have been displayed as rolling news.
May 19, 2007 at 6:05 am #220338Hi,
Just to follow up on my problem, there is one thing that may be of interest. My home link in the main menu(the default main page) is not itemid=1 as is default on joomla. Because of something that was done earlier the default home link in joomla was deleted. When I created a new home link in it’s place the itemid has been set to 144.
I feel that in the ja news module, there may be some place where this is hard coded to the joomla default. Do anybody have an idea od recreating my home link in joomla with itemid=1

Hi,
I have the same problem and the same feeling about the importance of using the ja-news module in combination with the core frontpage component. I published the MyBlog-component at my homepage and would like to put ja-news on top of that Blog-page. There is no single way I can publish this module on whatever page, let alone the homepage. (yes, I have created an additional ja-news module position).
Can ja-news be used without using the frontpage component?
Kind regards,
Michel
