Thought that this custom work needs not only css but also PHP code, you must customize layout for this module.

If you look at backend settings of this module, you will see that there are various available profiles – equivalent to layouts in ‘tmpl’ folder as Ninja Lead mentioned above. However, every layout has the same structure that if multi-categories are selected then each category will appear with one intro item + links as you can see in your first attached screenshot, so if you want to have only one intro item between these categories, I’m afraid that you must customize layout files to achieve it.
