January 21, 2011 at 2:34 am #372961Hi stjohnpatrick,
Did you try to set chmod of folder: modules/mod_janewspro, directory to 755 yet?
January 21, 2011 at 10:16 am #373004Hi
thanks for the reply –
I changed the directory to 755 but it still doesn’t work
I have also changed the line of code in japaramhelper.php file on line 189 to
$juri = JURI::base ();
$juri = str_replace( JPATH_SITE, "", $juri);
$uri = str_replace(DS,"/",str_replace( JPATH_SITE, $juri , dirname(__FILE__) ));…. but this didn’t work either.
I’m considering getting a refund as the site will be useless without the JA newspro and JA newsfp modules

January 22, 2011 at 2:07 am #373099Hi stjohnpatrick,
Sorry about the trouble. PM me your site login and FTP access. I shall have a look. If it works on our end and on demo site but doesnot work on your site, must be something is wrong on your end.
Regards
January 24, 2011 at 10:00 am #373428Thanks but can’t really provide those for security reasons – also the site is on a development server so isn’t accessible to the public yet.
Can you provide me a list of recommended permissions for the each folder within the root directory of joomla?
The instance that I installed was the quick start package with demo data installed downloaded on the 10th January 2011.
Thank you

January 24, 2011 at 10:37 am #373434Hi stjohnpatrick,
Please try or check one of the following:
1. Did you move configuration.php file out of root directory?
2. Try set chmod of folder: mod_janewspro, profiles to 777 or modules, mod_janewspro, profiles to 755
3. What’s default language in Back end on your site?
4. Recommend:
<blockquote>I have also changed the line of code in japaramhelper.php file on line 189 to</blockquote>
Do not change anything of the module, pls.
5. Login to admin panel, then go to link:
<blockquote>http://yourdomain.com/modules/mod_janewspro/admin/helper.php?japaramaction=changeTheme&theme=default&template=ja_teline_iv</blockquote>
Right mouse click -> choose “View Page Resource” and PM me resource of this page.Regards
February 4, 2011 at 12:11 pm #375104Tried all of this but still does not work – any update?

February 7, 2011 at 7:38 am #375303The common problem when saving profile in such modules relate to file permission. You should enable the ftp configuration for your joomla to fix this problem. The ftp configuration is in Global Configuration, Server tab (screen-short)

Hello there,
i try everything you wrote here, i try this:<blockquote>Originally Posted by k0nan View Post

i WARMLY suggest joomlart to investigate on this problem..</blockquote>and this:
<blockquote>2. Try set chmod of folder: mod_janewspro, profiles to 777 or modules, mod_janewspro, profiles to 755</blockquote>All this files are fully at 777, trying by myself, but i have no luck. My Mozilla get me mootools problem like:
<blockquote>Skript: http://www.listuj.sk/media/system/js/mootools.js:42</blockquote>
Can somebody from JA give us REAL SOLUTION for this? As i see, im not only one user with this problem. If JA say to world the TELINE IV. is BEST MAGAZINE JOOMLA TEMPLATE, i think it would be perfect to give us solution for this problems. I have same problem with JA NEWS FP, SAVE or APPLY not working too…i posted ticket too and now checking for answer.
Its shame, i remember times, when JA provide really the BEST support around…:(:(:(Nguyen Hong FriendNguyen Hong

March 2, 2011 at 9:56 am #379266I have the same problem; I downloaded and installed the latest version of ja_news_pro which is supposed to solve the issues with this module. The module installs on the “left” position by default. I specified the “ja-news-2” position as required by the linear layout, but it just won’t save the new position, so the module always shows on the left. This really messes up my frontpage, with no solution in sight.
I submitted a ticket but the reply is that they can save any changes without any problems. I wish joomlart can solve this issue once and for all; it is really frustrating, it renders the template virtually useless, and a complete waste of time.
