    Hi all,

Everything in my site was working fine. Then my client let the domain expire and it reverted to the registrar’s placeholder page on their server. He just renewed it yesterday. Now the site has re-propagated and it’s pointing to my server again, but now the JA News show on the front page isn’t working anymore. I’ve checked and the module and the stories it shows are published.

Any ideas of what could have happened? Or more importantly, what do I need to do to get it working again?

The other odd thing is that the toolbar of the administrator area has dissappeared! I was able to enter the url directly for the site modules page and the toolbar module is published. I tried unpublishing it and then re-publishing it, but it didn’t come back. I’m stuck on this one.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

    Best,
    railer

    which version of Joomla?

Have you changed any settings on the server? PHP etc?

Is the url to the admin toolbar you are following this one…
    …/administrator/index.php?option=com_modules&client=1&task=edit&cid[]=12

    Joomla 1.0.15 stable.

I don’t think any server settings have been changed. It’s a dedicated box, but I’ll check anyway with my ISP. No that’s not the URL.

Here is the relevant part for the site modules page:
    administrator/index2.php?option=com_modules

And the relevant part for the administrator modules page:
    administrator/index2.php?option=com_modules&client=admin

Anyway, I’m kind of at a loss at the moment as to what is causing this.

Let me know if you have any other ideas.

    Best,

Oddly enough, it seems to be a Firefox problem, on both Mac and PC. I haven’t checked on IE7, but the JA News module IS working in IE6. Go figure. Also, I just want to clarify that in the JA Dravity template, the fading story image and headline with body text in the upper left part of the main content area is actually JA News, correct,? And it is not JA Slideshow? Please confirm that is how the demo template is setup, because that is what I am emulating. Btw, I don’t have any of the articles below displaying, intentionally, and never have — and the fading part above was working. Do they need to?

Attached to this message is a screen grab of what I am seeing in Firefox (PC and Mac) and in Safari, too. It’s just showing the module title (HEADLINE) and the nav buttons from the right side (but overlaid onto top of the word “HEADLINE”). Maybe that will give someone a clue on what is wrong.

    Best,

No recent changes have been made to the server settings:

    Linux Fedora Core 3
    Apache 2.0.54
    MySQL 4.1.12
    PHP 5.1.4

    Joomla version is: 1.0.15

I have confirmed that the JA News slideshow is indeed working in IE7. But is NOT working in IE6 and in Mac Firefox 2.0.0.6 and Safari 3.2.1

Getting it working is my current priority, though I suppose if I cannot access the admin menu items, it makes it difficult to remake the JA News Slideshow module items.

I’ll keep working on it. Hopefully someone has some ideas.

    Thanks,
    railer
