I’ve some sections with more categories (and three with two only categories).
I’ve tried to divide all in two JA News2 modules (one in Content Bottom, the other – for some sections only – in User7-8).
It was ok for almost all sections, but not for one with two categories: this one isn’t presented in User7, but in Content Bottom, with the other module.
The other two sections (always with two categories only), instead, shows well in User7…

    Why?

    Thanks for help

    salvo,

Analogy: Imagine a situation when building a house. Consider a situation where the contents (beds, furniture, bathroom stuff, kitchen utensils, etc.) have been delivered but not all of the structural framework of he house, the room dividers (framework and walls) have not yet been erected or in place. Where will you place the delivered contents?

Replace the contents of a house with contents of a website, as well as house with unfinished structural framework and/or rooms (or dividers) with similar “website frameworks” and “position modules of a website”. I hope you get the picture.

I observe the same behavior as you posted possibly due to several factors — slow server (e.g., shared server hosting), browser (old browser), computer (older computer or not enough CPU remaining), internet connection speed, high network traffic (day time dependent), very complex homepage or a combination of these factors — these contribute to “timing out” issues due to slow speed loading of the site.

In regard Teline III, I explained some factors that could cause to very complex homepage in your other post:

JA Weather module and …wrong city

Another new feature of Teline III, many of the structure (framework) and position modules widths are defined elsewhere. The scripts are further compartmentalized***, e.g., check how the index.php in the Teline III template, each component itself may be further compartmentalized. Compare this with the simpler Teline II index.php.

These result in to more “include” functions in the scripting to re-assemble everything that is needed to create a website. Usually nested directories and files do not cause any problem if you have “very fast and powerful technology, tools or resources” (see above). If not, you will encounter the issues that contribute to “timing out”.

    Cornelio

*** part of this compartmentalization may be related to the goal in Teline III to make the template more compatible with different browsing devices — computers (desktops and notebooks) and mobile computing devices.

    thanks, Cornelio,
I agree, but why in this case the bed fits into house and …the table not? 🙂
    Same forniture type, differente bahaviour…
