CHMOD means give the images and other files the correct access rights. Example 777 means user group and world have ALL (READ WRITE AND EXECUTE) access to files. You need to set the indicated files to have permissions of 777 for testing puposes, then set to the recommended values. You can set the CHMOD through some FTP clients, through components like joomlaexplorer, or through cpanel.

I do have the same problem! My newsflash doesn’t roll through content items. It does it only on refresh. Any ideas? Help!

Hi, I followed the advice of the support guys and it worked: Make sure you CHMOD to 644 all the files of this module both within its own folder and within the modules folder. Hope that helps

I use su php to keep site at 755. My issue seems to be that the module does a loop of the same item 2 or 3 or 4 times before going to the next item. Any help on how to fix this?
    Thanks
    Chas

Maybe it’s the issue with the random function. Could you give your URL here?

    Ok, this worked for me:-
To change the CHMOD go into Your service provider Control Panel, there you should find ‘File Manager’ (joomlaxplorer) go into the Modules – mod_janewsflash & change the permission from 0700 to 0755. This fixed it.
