Hi,
Hi Iam using the mod_janewsflash for a catogory on my start page. It seems that after refreshing the page the module will show the first article with correct encoding but when the next article is rolling in the encoding has changed and shows lots of strange characters. This will continue until I am reloading the page again. How could I solve this?
Please help!

July 14, 2008 at 9:42 am #259620Hi mortalito !
You try to do it following way below :
Open ja-newsflashloader.php file in modulesmod_janewsflashja_newsflash folder, find following code line at about line 117 :
$current_charset = "ISO8859-1";
change to :
$current_charset = "UTF-8";
July 14, 2008 at 11:09 am #259632Hi hainn84,
thanks for a quick reply but this seems not to be the solution. I changed it to UTF-8 but it will still shows strange signs on the site, could this maybe be a server issue? Please help.

July 24, 2008 at 4:42 am #261906Hi gaston !
i think that this is problem in charset of your site . Please view image attachment , now , you use iso-8859-1 charset, please change it to “utf-8” and try again .July 24, 2008 at 7:32 am #261946Hi hain84,

July 24, 2008 at 8:02 am #261953Hi mortalito !
with joomla 1.0 you can find it in language file inlanguage folder with “_ISO” string.
With joomla 1.5 you can change it in index.php file in templates/ folder. you search following string :
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
July 24, 2008 at 8:16 am #261954Hi,
Found it:o
I have now changed this line to: <meta http-equiv=”Content-Type” content=”text/html; charset=UTF-8″ />I still have the same problem:confused: but I am still positive and I love this module!
Thanks.
