November 25, 2008 at 7:48 pm #135695Hi,
I saw in oldest threads that the Ja NewsFlash have some problems with Turkish Carachters. I have similar problem with Spanish carachters, I try solutions that some people gives with no results so I ask for help.
It’s curious that in the first load everything it’s ok, is when the Ja NewsFlash show the next article when the carachters show wrong and only in that specific module.
I’m using joomla with spanish translation and all other sections shows correctly.
Thank you very much!

November 26, 2008 at 9:06 am #280351Thanks hainn84 for your interest.
The URL site is http://pr4.milcom.es/ and the Ja NewsFlash module don’t show the Spanish carachters correctly. For exemple the letter ‘á’ it shows it like ‘á’. In the first view/load of the page it shows it wright, it’s when changes the article, shows the next news, when the problem happen.
Any idea how to fix it? I suppose it’s some problem with the moduloe Ja NewsFlash but don’t know how to fix it.
Thanks again!

November 27, 2008 at 7:49 am #280462Hi milcom !
Please open ja-newsflashloader.php file in modulesmod_janewsflashja_newsflash folder, find following code section at about line 32 :
if (!defined ('_JEXEC')) {
define( '_JEXEC', 1 );
change to :
if (!defined ('_JEXEC')) {
header('Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8');define( '_JEXEC', 1 );

November 27, 2008 at 3:56 pm #280524hainn84! Thank you very much, that solves the problem.
Now tell me, why is this happening? I mean if it’s a bug why it’s not fixed, and if it’s not why this template is not compatible with other language…
Resuming THANKS but why this template is not 100% multilanguage.
Don’t feel angry because of my ignorancy if I’m wrong, just trying to understand every day more!

December 1, 2008 at 9:56 am #280851I tried this on my site. It didn’t help, but hat is becasue it is a bit different. There the text shows fine, in English and Thai. But when I change to Thai, and it slides to the new newsflash, it revert back to English. Why is that? Any ideas?
