    Hi,

The first column overflows into the second when viewed in safari browser.
Can you please point me out in the right direction to fix this problem.

    the url is http://www.gptechllc.com

    Also, is it possible to hide the gap on the front page where content would be, if there was front page article content. it’s ja-content-main { margin-bottom: 20px;}
Is changing this to 0 going to affect any other content?

    Most importantly,
do you plan on fixing the caching issue with mobile and default layouts?
I’ve read that many people have problem with it. with caching enabled, the cache gets overriden when the site was called from a mobile device. Any news on fixing this?

    Thank you for your help,

    t.

I would really appreciate if someone looked at the safari issue!

    Hi supergirl

I can’t help you technically (probably) but I use Safari and it also happens on Chrome on the Mac. Sorry about that! :((

From a pure logic point of view the sentence (your title) just seems too long. Even Word or Pages wouldn’t cope well with that. Take it from a German speaker!

Might I suggest that you put a space both in front of and after the slash? Then it might be able to hyphenate to the next line.

I think as the title is doing it it allows the second instance i.e. the content text, to do it too.

Easy thing to try before the techies offer their assistance! πŸ˜‰

    Hi swissa,

    thank you for your reply.
I see what you’re saying, but i’m just somebody who put the page together πŸ˜‰ i didn’t write the article myself..
Oh, it also seems it’s not just the title, but the content too πŸ™
Further, I’m a German speaker too, so i know what you mean (zusammengesetzte woerter).

If i’m not mistaken, safari doesn’t like procentages, so adding a rule for safari to override the standard rule for width of the columns would solve the issue, however JA’s framework makes everything harder to find, and before i dig deeper into it, i figured i’d ask here and hopefully a) get a quicker solution and b) point out a flaw in design.

    I guess I’ll dig deeper..

Vielen Dank fuer deine Antwort!! Gruess mir die Schweiz πŸ˜‰

    Sali!

Have you tried it? Personally I don’t think it has anything to do with Safari. It happens on Google Chrome too.

If you look at the middle picture in the text in capitals wraps
    RACING
    INDY MOTO 2
INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY as it has spaces between.

That’s why I think there is no text until after the picture and then it has to force itself over the limit.

    Change GPTECH/FRAMECRAFTERS/YAMAHA USA MOTO3 PROJECT

    to

    GPTECH/ FRAMECRAFTERS/ YAMAHA USA MOTO3 PROJECT

and see what happens. Bet you a fondue it works! πŸ˜‰

    Tried it, didn’t help.
On the front page it doesn’t even show that i tried. Can’t see it unless you click on the article. πŸ™

    Erst, danke Dir!

It could be a cache problem. Did you clear the JAT3 cache?

Try putting those words on different lines in the news article. If it doesn’t change on the front page then it is a cache problem.

Make sure you have development mode to yes in the template.

    You Rock!!!!!

    Vielen, vielen Dank!!

Now, did you figure out a way to enable cache without the mobile cache overriding the cache?
Does any kind of caching work?

    Let me reword this.

Your site looks the same on the mobil device.
When i tried that, it was zoomed in and not scrollable until zoomed out.

What exactly did you do, if you don’t mind sharing?

Gerne. You are more than welcome. I always look to the simple things first as I’m not a coder.

I have ALL cache always diabled due to the fact that I have a shopping cart. So in fact my site stays with development always on. Any changes made by a user in the cart are then reflected z.B. he deletes an item from the cart, I need it to go immediately.

You should be alright with switching off the development mode when you are finished building the site. Just leave it off it the meantime and also keep Optimize CSS off while you are working at the backend. That way you can save what you are doing and see it sofort on the site.

If I can help you in any other way just shout. If you decide to put it into dual language you’re going to need it. πŸ˜€

Good luck with the site. Looking cool already.

Just a quickie, you need to replace the 3rd foto on the side-news-module. It is too small for the assigned space.

Your site looks perfect on my ipad. It is using the proper mobile settings. Can’t try on an iphone as I only borrowed one for the dev of my site. What device are you having problems with?

    Thanks for all the info!

Mobile version works, but it’s ugly. I’d much rather have the full version on the mobile device.

I tried it on my android.
If i set the default profile to android, instead of iphone, the page appears zoomed in and the menu is messed up.
I then have to zoom out all the way, before it works. So, i switched to the iphone profile, but i’m not a fan.

When i visited your page from android, it showed zoomed out and everything looks fine.

I gotta go now. I’ll be back later!

Thanks again for all your help!

Ok, get what you mean now.

Settings for my site in template profiles are:

    Desktop Layout – default
    Handheld Layout – handheld
    Iphone Layout – iphone
    Android Layout – disabled

Forces Android to go to the default setting.
