hi, I bought a membership a year ago. I’m thinking of renewing it, but first I’ve got a couple of questions. On the demo site, when you choose the red color (like I did) you get a colorful site: with red, blue, and green headlines. I chose red and got ONLY red. I want a colorful site like the one on the demo. Also, I’d like to download the highlight module seen on the demo site. Where can I download it from? Thanks!

April 23, 2011 at 9:31 pm #387788The coloured bits are simply done by adding custom classes. Install your quickstart package on your localhost using a tool such as Wamp (google it) and you can compare the settings. They are also detailed in the forums which you would gain full access to should you decide to re-join.
As for the hilite module that too is a custom module class with details as per above.

April 23, 2011 at 9:36 pm #387790The quickstart package is already installed. The site’s been set for some months. It just took a long time for the support team to respond everytime I had a question; that’s why I’ve had doubts on whether renewing or not. I’m not an expert, but I’ll look into this “adding custom classes.” Thank you.

April 23, 2011 at 9:40 pm #387792Look at any of the demo modules and you should see the custom classes.
As for support, JA have worked really hard over the last few months improving their support levels. As well as getting the more active members like myself onboard to assist they have employed a number of dedicated full time support staff. Hopefully support will improve even more over the coming months as new staff get up to speed with the T3V2 framework. If you do re-join and have any support issues then feel free to drop me a PM and I will do the best I can to assist.
April 23, 2011 at 9:49 pm #387793ok, thank you. I thought that, since the quickstart package is already installed, it wouldn’t be some complicated to set up the highlight module and make the homepage a little bit more colorful. I’ll take your word about the support and will consider renewing with this on mind.

April 23, 2011 at 10:58 pm #387797As a quick example take a look now at the “Module Class Suffix” I have applied to the module “Noticortos”. In the module manager you will see it at the bottom of the settings for that module. Delete what I have added to return things to their initial red colour.
In addition, you should upgrade your Joomla install as you are a few versions behind. The upgrade packages are available from the Joomla website.
Some of the JA modules you have installed also have later versions but you can only access those with a current memership.

April 23, 2011 at 11:13 pm #387799Ok, there are several issues that I need to take care of: upgrade the Joomla installation, upgrade the JA modules, find and install the JA Highlight Module (I want to use it instead of the “Noticortos” module, something like an “About Us”), and create a new module class suffix so, in addition to red and green, I can also have blue like the demo site. If I renew my suscription now, would you be so kind as to walk me through all of these issues? I am a beginner with Joomla and could really mess things up.

April 24, 2011 at 5:51 am #387807Yes, no problem.
April 24, 2011 at 5:51 pm #387845Hi, seeing that the support service has improved, I think I’ll renew my suscription. I have been looking at the new templates. The website is for a school that treats kids with disabilities. I just havenĀ“t found any templates meant for educational purposes.
I’ve tried to figure out some things on my own. I used the Update Manager for Joomla to update to version 1.5.23. I’m still struggling to add the correct code for a class suffix that styles the module with the blue color seen on the demo site. Thanks;)

April 24, 2011 at 9:55 pm #387864Which particular module? The one at the bottom or the one to the right when you are blue overall?
April 24, 2011 at 9:59 pm #387867Hi Phil,
I’m leaving the green background for the Noticortos module. Thank you for that. And I want a more colorful site, since it’s about kids, so I want to make some of the titles blue, like “Recent Works” on the demo site.

April 24, 2011 at 10:07 pm #387869I have made your “Popular” module blue. Please note you must have the leading space in the module class suffix in these positions.
When your membership is active you will be able to look up all the other module classes available. Well done on upgrading to J1.5.23. That was quite an urgent thing for you for security reasons. With any PHP package it is very important to keep up to date.

Thank you so much! I don’t quite understand what you mean by leading space, but I now have a general grasp of module class suffixes that should help me once my membership is active. Should be soon enough.

April 24, 2011 at 10:17 pm #387874By a space I mean in this case you cannot simply put color3 as the suffix, there must be a space before the first letter.
Details of why can be found here (scroll down a bit to “Page Class Suffix(With leading space)” and that details exactly why the space is needed – http://docs.joomla.org/Tutorial:Using_Class_Suffixes
