1. Template Installation:

From the JA Nickel download package, you select and upload template package onto your site Administrator to install as normal. This is your first time installation? Check out How to install manual Joomla! template guide.

Tips: If you wish to have JA Nickel exactly as per our demo, we recommend you use quick-start package. This will create a new Joomla site with JA Nickel, all built-in extensions and sample content. Check How to install Quickstart.

2. Template Configuration

Log in your site Admin panel, select Extentions >> Template Manager, click on JA_Nikel, you will see:

You can change all JA Nickel parameters as you wish.

1. Logo type: Logo display in site, has two types: Image and Text
2. Logo text: text displayed in logo if you choose Logo type is Text.
3. Slogan: Slogan displayed below logo
4. Font size : Increase/Decrease font size (from 1 to 6).
5. Enable Cufon: Replace default font with a special font for some title/header. Note that default cufon font that going with this template does not support unicode.
6. Default style: include Default/Blue/Red style.
7. Menu Type: type of menu displayed in site (Mainmenu/Topmenu…..)
8. Menu Style: include Disable/Split/Css/Moo menu.

You just simply change above-mentioned parameters, then refresh your front-page to see how the changes effect.

Where is a screenshot or PDF of module positions and also where can I find Module Class Suffix info?

You can find the Module Class Suffix via the Module Class Suffix parameter of each configuration’s module

I deleted the initial modules, now I want to create a blue highlighte and don´t remember the class sufix, I tried -blue with no success… this should be documented or exampled in the demo to be made easier and safer. Ideas?

I installed ‘mod_jaslideshow2’ on the template JA_NICKEL. Whenever I set source to ‘From Image Folder’ the website disappears. How can I fix this problem.
