Hi,
I really like the JA Opal template, but I need it for Joomla 1.7. I know this question has been asked before, but it’s almost half a year ago, so: when will the Opal template work for Joomla 1.7?
Thank you in advance.

January 9, 2012 at 3:33 am #433055With the pending advent of the next LTR (Long Term Release) in Joomla 2.5 (slated for last half of Jan 2012), our JA Senior Staff and Devs are currently assessing the prudency of planning for updating our JATC Template Catalog for J2.5 – as opposed to devoting the time and resources for updating the catalog for the interim J1.7.As J2.5 remains in the beta stage at this point, we will not be able to assess our plan-of-action until such time as either J2.5RC (release candidate) is released or J2.5 stable is ultimately released (as we do not want to design/update for a beta or RC release that is fraught with bugs and errors).Hope that makes some logical sense at this time . . . and we most certainly appreciate your patience with this process.January 27, 2012 at 4:02 pm #435705TomC ModeratorTomC

Joomla 2.5 was released on January 24, 2012 –> http://www.joomla.org/announcements/release-news/5403-joomla-250-released.htmlFebruary 7, 2012 at 5:33 am #437282Is Ja-Opal going to be one of the updated templates to 1.7/2.5 ? It is the only sports template you have., I have been using your purittyII and it is great, I now need a sports one and When I saw the Ja-Opal I was hooked, until I went to get it and there was no 1.7/2.5 version

February 7, 2012 at 5:10 pm #437381I would refer you to our JOOMLART TEMPLATES and EXTENSIONS 2.5 UPDATE ROADMAP for information as to our plan of action for updating our products for J2.5+
February 7, 2012 at 6:18 pm #437404Well I guess by that article JA-Opal will not be updated, IS it very dificult to take the T3 blank and add the css and graphics of the JA-Opal to it, and if I buy the JA-Opal 1.5 will you provide some assistance for me to convert it to 2.5? OR will you come out with a sports template in the near future?

February 7, 2012 at 7:47 pm #437427Opal is also one of my favorite Joomlart templates. When I saw this thread in the forum list I was excited by the idea of an updated version. TOO BAD!
This is really one of the better Sports related templates from any template developer. It is also one of the more unique Joomlart themes so should be a genuine consideration. my2c

March 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm #443979Hi,
I’m starting a new project and I’d also like to use Opal, as I think it’s one of the best sport related themes out there.
Obviously I’m not willing to buy a template to use only for a very limited amount of time…So can you please just confirm me that you’re not going to upgrade it to J2.5 so that I take it out of my mind, or… make me happy and stop searching for a template, telling me that you are actually going to upgrade it.
I’ve read your road map, but I’ve not succeeded on being sure for one thing or the other…
TIA for your reply

May 25, 2012 at 9:51 pm #454927Why is this marked solved when no concrete answers have been given.
I, too, have been using a customized version of OPAL and it’s a great template. Will you guys update it for 2.5? Can you help us update the basic framework? Have a large site I am migrating to 2.5 and I would rather not have to redo it from scratch because of template incompatibility.

May 25, 2012 at 11:48 pm #454930HI kevinag.
Thanks for the love for Opal. Currently we are running full capacity in upgrading our components to J2.5, plus the new JA Wall and JA Lens release that take up most of our resources.
Definitely with the upgrade of older J2.5, we will come back with this pretty soon, but which one to be upgrade… I’m afraid that I would not be certain of such as well. Like on our Roadmap blog post not too long ago, we’ll have a later poll upon this.
Watch out for the latest news on our Blog & Facebook.
Regards.
