I’d like to modify the standard light-red theme colours to use an even lighter shade of red.

I decided to modify the light-red theme. I found the light-red css file in JA Ores/css/colors/light-red and changed the colour reference throughout. I also found the JA Ores/images/light-red images folder and edited the images in Photoshop.

I have the JA Ores sample data installed but the slideshow background is still the original red colour but I can see that some of my changes have worked. Are there any other files I need to edit to change the theme completely or is it possible to add a new custom theme instead of modifying one of the standard themes?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Of course you can create more colours. Edit the template details xml file and add the required colour. Then create the required css in and images folders. It is a lot of work however so you may be better off doing as you are. Remember, many of the backgrounds are in fact images. Use firebug to find out what controls what.
