June 29, 2010 at 12:26 pm #152148Righty, I’m hoping someone can help with this?
I already have one site up and running smoothly with JA Ores and the search function running fine.
I have attempted to produce a second site using this template, however when a search is submitted, the results appear underneath the modules on the homepage which unfortunately you cannot see!
Is there a quick fix so the search results appear within a new page? I don’t know what has made this happen as on the previous install of Ores the results do appear within a new page.
I have attempted to install rokajaxsearch as a quick fix but I’m having the common problem of the ajax search producing no results when text is entered into the search field, but get results fine when going down the advanced search route.

June 30, 2010 at 8:47 am #348494Do you mean assign a menu item which links the user to a search form? If so this approach is a ltitle tedious and would much prefer the live search from the homepage.
Any alternate solutions? I’ve seen many resolves with some hardcoding but we’d like to avoid that if possbile.

June 30, 2010 at 8:54 am #348495Dear stuarth,
If you creating a menu item that referring to the search component and don’t assign any modules for that menu item then when users do a search on your Home page the result page will not display any module, only result page.

June 30, 2010 at 9:12 am #348496Right I reckon we’ve fathomed this thank you dathq.
I created a new menu (sepeate from main menu so it wasn’t displayed in the home page menu list) and created a new item within that menu called Search Results.
From this I created a search module and set the ‘Set ItemID: ##’ to the specific menu item so in this instance it was Set ItemID: 216. Then the results displayed in a new page.
Thank you for the help. And hope this helps any others with a similar problem.
