May 15, 2007 at 2:04 am #120248Hi,
I have been looking around the site here for any word relating to policy in respect of Joomla 1.5 templates. That is, NATIVE J.1.5 which do not require Legacy System.I hope I haven’t missed an article here somewhere…
Will there be some attempt to modify say, the last 3 (or 5 …?) templates from some point in time ie. a Date.?
Will there be a cutover point in time.?
Will there be TWO versions of new templates from some point in time onwards for say, three months. From some “yet-to-be-determined” point in time, could new templates be made to auto-detect the Joomla version and auto adjust for NOT having to run in Legacy System mode.
Any news would be handy for forward planning.
Cheers,

ChrisJa has no official policy on Joomla 1.5 as its not released yet, its in beta 2 stage and not even to RC1. I think JA is waiting for a stable release and then will announce their official policy.
I would expect from discussions with staff and developers that they intend to make all future templates after stable release of 1.5 compliant but as for previous ones I cannot comment.
A PM to Hung Dinh would prolly be best if you are depending on 1.5 stable compliance in your decision making to use a JA template for a project or not
Hope this has helped somewhat

May 15, 2007 at 5:14 am #220065Thanks ShannonN,
I think your reasoning is about where where I got to…
I was just wondering if there had been a statement yet..@ShannonN 15478 wrote:

Given that Beta 2 is out and about – and looking good, I think it is now time to get our skates on.
Chris

May 15, 2007 at 5:37 am #220067We will be fixing our templates to make sure they work with version 1.5 when it is officially released. Until then you’ll need to wait.
