How can I make the images pulled from the article content click able in the Joomla 1.6 version of Portfolio and JA Content Slider?

This was enabled in the 1.5 version, so can we get it to work on 1.6?

Dear zbeatty,
You can pull an image from an article. Just insert this line with the correct image path in your article content:
{japopup type=”image” title=”Sample image 1″ content=”images/stories/gallery/gl-1.jpg” }Sample image{/japopup}
This is japopup plugin. It has been enabled in JA Portfolio 1.6.

Sorry, I think I might have stated the problem in a confusing way. The images are showing up in the content slider. I can click the text for the article title but not the image itself. How do I link the image so that someone visiting the site can click either the picture or the text to get to the corresponding article?
