I love JA Purity and I used it so far without problems on various 1.5.7 sites. This Templates is exactly what I like… simple and highly customisable.

I cannot say, however, the same thing about his “little” brother (.i.e the JA Purity template for 1.0.x). For some reason the 1.0.x pages using this template are “too slow”.

I have thought for a long time that it was probably my fault. At the begining I thought it could be an issue related to the reverse proxy of one of the servers I used… Patiently I look for all possible causes without success (act/deact cache, use Firefox data temper plug in to see what item was actually taking longer to load, looked at possible template overrides, etc) and the pages kept loading very slow between 20 to 30 seconds, whereas normally with other templates takes less that 1 second.

Recently, I have installed this template in another server and website (http://www.7picos.com/ be patient it takes nearly 30 seconds to load!!!), this time without any reverse proxy on it. The result is basically the same, I have noticed that the pages using the Ja Purity template take again over 20 seconds to load instead of 1 or 2.

I have been googling for “slow ja purity 1.0.x” performance, but I have found basically nothing. Did anybody notice this as well or it is just me being paranoid… is slowness in ja purity 1.0.x a known issue? and if so is there any workaround…?
