I have a website that uses JA Purity II on Joomla 1.5.22. I really like the design and want to use JA Purity II on another site.

The new site will be Joomla + Virtuemart. Unfortunately there will be no Joomla 1.6-compatible release of Virtuemart uintil end of 2011. Until then I will have to run with Joomla 1.5.

The first question is simple: Can I use tha JA Purity II template (1.6-compatible) with Joomla 1.5.xx. If so I can run with 1.5 on the new website until the end of the year knowing that I can migrate to Joomla 1.6 using something like Matias Aguirre’s jUpgrade component. If 1.7 is out at that time the upgrade 1.6–> 1.7 should not be a major issue.

The second question is also probably simple: On the first (Joomla 1.5.22) web site can I upgrade JA Purity II by installing the 1.6-compatible version? This will make migrating to Joomla 1.6 much smoother (again, probably by using jUpgrade)

Though I haven’t tested but I think you can not use J1.6 template in a J1.6 site since there are some differences in template structure…

You should download JA Purity II template for J1.5 for using as of now then wait for Virtuemart upgrade to upgrade the template to J1.6 native version..
