August 10, 2011 at 5:52 pm #167258Hello:
Several JA Purity questions:
1.) Template Upgrade-can JA Purity be upgraded to the latest Joomla version (1.7) and should the template be upgraded to JA Purity II? Will any of this undo the work I have done?
2.) Header, Horizontal Nav ,Botlslwrap Color change
a.) I would like to use a single graphic in the header. I am not sure what to do about the header mask or the dimensions of graphic location. Where is this done please?b.) I would like to change the color of the horizontal navigation buttons in both the static and clicked state. Can you direct me as to how to do this?
c.) Where is the location to change or add color to module headers.

August 11, 2011 at 5:30 am #405566Hi
1. Please note that the JA Purity template is maintained by Joomla and JA Purity II is maintained by JA. As per my knowledge the JA templates are not yet released specifically for Joomla 1.7, but the JAT3 framework is now compatible with the J1.7. The JA templates compatible with J1.6 are working on J1.7 and we have fixed few bugs reported while using JA templates with 1.7. I would suggest you to try using JA Purity II on 1.7 installation and see if it works as you want.
Remember to take a backup of the template JA purity II (if you are using it right now and have it customised), before upgrading any template since the changes you make in core files of template will be overwritten.
If you are not using JA Purity II as of now, you can download a J1.6 compatible version at http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=cat&id=4022 a. For you current site with JA Purity, all the header related styling is done from template.css and style.css so you will need to change the styling there to fit your need.
The background image in header are coming from templates/ja_purity/images/header, so you will need to replace these images with your images and see if that fulfills your requirement.2 b. To change the blue background of current top menu, you need to change styling in templates/ja_purity/styles/header/blue/style.css in your current template. Find styling for ja-mainnav ul li and change the background color.
similarly to change background color of menu on mouse over, find ja-mainnav ul li:hover or ja-mainnav ul li a:hover or similar styling and change the background color there.2 c. Your current Red module titles are styled in templates/ja_purity/styles/elements/red/style.css so you will need to change the styling for that by changing styles for div.module h3 in the stylesheet.
Hope that helps you achieve what you want.
