I have modified a template where I have added a Flash presentation below the menu and above the user boxes. It’s kind of a cross between JA Quillaja and JA Zibal.

I’d be happy to share the modified version with anyone who wants it, but I need some help figuring out a few things. It’s all kind of technical and confusing, but if anyone is up to the challenge, let me know 🙂

    Here’s the template:
    http://d16819.u25.incommandnow.com/en/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/

Here’s what it looks like with a static image instead of the Flash:
    http://d16819.u25.incommandnow.com/en/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,51/

    1. How can I make the Flash go “under” the the menu? If you go to http://d16819.u25.incommandnow.com/en/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/ you will see that the Flash is below the menu instead of having the menu overlap it like it does the images on the JA Zibal template (ie http://www.joomlart.com/templates_demo.php?template=ja_zibal).

    2. How can I make it so that the Flash doesn’t overlap the content below it? It’s currently covering the user boxes and part of the main page content.

I’m not sure if it’s even possible to make the menu overlap the Flash (#1), but I can’t seem to find in the css what to change to make it so the Flash does not overlap the stuff below it (#2).

    Thanks,
    Ellen

Your problem occours because you load the flash directly via OBJECT tag, I must notice you that nothing can overlap the object. I suggest you go to http://www.adobe.com and then view Source, you will see they’re not using object tag, they use emble tag and use JavaScript to add params for the flash. You should try that and everything will be fine. Beside, if you use OBJECT tag, your website will not be validated anymore.
Goodluck and wait for your result.
