All images I place in articles (png or jpg) show as having a background on the JA Rave template live site. See Premont.com for an example. These same images do not do that on other joomla templates. Is there a bug?

If you want to remove that background, you can edit:
YOUR-SITE-PATH/templates/ja_rave_new/css/template.css

line 579: Remove “background” and “border” attribute for element .ja-box-ct p .img, .article-content p img {}

There isn’t a bug, just some style for IMG tag. If don’t like it, you can remove easily
