I’ve read some weeks ago about the “slowness” of the template, but can’t seem to find this topic back. Is this (magnificent !!!) template still so slow to load ? Or have the developers did some efforts to make it quicker ?

That’s the only thing that withdraws me from using this template.

I have to say, this is a nice looking template that I really wanted to use. It is far too slow, though, and my ISP shut down my account 3-4 times because of the load it put on the server.

gzip compression, minify-ing the code, etc., didn’t seem to help. I am among those who would love to use it, but can’t. I wish the Joomlart folks would stop blaming the ISP’s on this- another poster says it was taking 5-10 seconds to load a page on a local server?? That’s a problem with the template, not the server (or the ISP).

Thanks for letting me vent a little! 🙂

There’s a lot improvement in performance for T3v2 templates recently. Only the first load is slow (initiallize resouce, one time only till you clean whole T3 cache). Disable “Development mode”, enable “Cache” in T3 template manager also improve your site performance and reduce the server load.

I think you should update your T3v2 Framework plugin first (download from T3v2 Framework category to get latest version: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=cat&id=317 ). After that, if your site still loads slow, please submit a ticket with your site information, we will get a deeper check.

The site is live at http://ocsi.org/joomla2

The JAT3 framework is updated to latest version. A quick view of the site, and my ISP’s processor load went up over 25%. Still! This is the problem. I get scores around 87 on PageSpeed, so I think the site is optimized reasonably well.

But, I use Kyanite II for my current main site (ocsi.org) and it doesn’t put a heavy load on the server at all. Switch to the Rave site (it is a copy), and suddenly the server load shoots waaaay up.

    Any suggestions?:((

I try to follow the instructions about slow loading issue but I can’t make it work.

I used small size images, I make settings like join & minify

I uninstall twitter but I need facebook module at front page
I need to add slideshow2 at front page , I need that , mostly thats why I am working on this template, I am about the finish the web site but it is still slow, my boss also find it too slow. He asked me to make it faster or change the template or do something fast.
I am so upset for all of the work which is a waste of time, even if I spent extra time to work on a new template I am not sure if it is gonna work

this is the link for page, you can check it

    Any suggestions for me

It seem there’s a problem with the slideshow module. It try to load all images before render the view, causing the slow on displaying the site. We will fix the problem on slideshow to improve the site performance.

@ tbezner & pioneercss: please check if the Cache setting is enable in Global Configuration in your administrator.

    Cache mode is enable

    Yes, ‘caching’ is enabled.

I’ve followed your instructions to optimize the site.

I’ve followed instructions provided with “PageSpeed” to optimize the site. My current score is around 90-91.

However, a load of the index.php file results in the server processor usage rocketing up past 25%!!

I’m not using JA’s slideshow module- I use a Flash-based “Badge” from SmugMug on the top page. Flash is a resource hog, but I use the same thing on my Kyanite II site with no problems and no heavy load on the server’s CPU.

This is quite the mystery to me.:((

Just to expand on this for others, some modules may be looking for information from external sites. When those external sites such as facebook or weather sites etc are taking time to load it may slow down the loading of your webpage. This sort of data cannot be cached as it is live data and in those cases there is little option but to put up with the delay.
