January 28, 2009 at 3:51 pm #288668I would not use the site how it looks right now, people get confused by the one logo here the original one there, http://www.tritongeneral.com/index.php/find-us and so on. I would suggest to utilize JA Edenite and not JA Rochea and not to keep on working with this template..
Looks very unprofessional but I only say this to support you, to advise you to change the template and not simply make you down or simply saying it looks great also when it does not comply to the current and past standards for commercial business, corporate homepages.
Hope my tips help and you understand!:)

January 28, 2009 at 3:58 pm #288669Hello,
Nice, clean. Probably you can change the color of the article titles to green or orange, it will get another feel to the site.
Just my opinion.

February 6, 2009 at 5:55 am #289830hi Kris_395,
I think you have done a great job. It looks quite inviting and professional I think.
One comment on the colors. Even if you keep the text the same color, should you maybe change the Read Me buttons to one of the colors used on the modules on the “right”?

February 6, 2009 at 6:29 am #289834I hadn’t read anyone’s comments before viewing your site. Instead I came right to your message, clicked on your link…and BAMM! I was in dream house heaven. I visited many of your photos and even checked out your location. *Secretly hoping your office was close by! 😀 I’m not planning on building a home, but if I were your site indeed kept me spellbound.
I’m not sure why the “unprofessional” comments were made. I’m sure Woohooo has a reason for thinking Rochea is unprofessional but on the contrary I highly enjoyed it’s ease of use and the craftsmanship of your work that was displayed.
Best of luck,

February 6, 2009 at 8:36 am #289869The site looks nice. There’s a link to the far top left of the site that says something like General Contractors, I can’t see the entirety of it, but it looks out of place.
February 12, 2009 at 7:02 am #290837Great site, I’m curious, did the gallery come with the template? How did you get that working? It looks fantastic. Nice work.
February 12, 2009 at 9:52 pm #290984Thank all for your comments.
This is Joomgallery (old Pony). It works fine with Rochea. You just need to fix some minor problems for IE6.imsleepy Friendimsleepy

February 12, 2009 at 10:13 pm #290994Fabulous site!!! Looks like it belongs on HGTV Dream House or something. Great job and great use of space and photos. Not over done. Only looked at the first page… but it hooked me. Off to look at the rest.

One suggestion. I think I would disable the ability to change site colors and width. Changing the colors also changes the impact of the site. Changing to narrow width which a small majority of people might do, also messes up the menu and a few other things. Minor distractions, but enough that it hurts the look. I think people with narrow screens are becoming accustomed to scrolling side to side when they need to. There are so few left at 800×600.
Just my humble opinion. Other than that, site is spectacular. Off to look at more.

February 13, 2009 at 1:25 am #291013Very professional and pleasing. Nice use of large pictures for top portion. Made we want to go back and change my default color on my site! Also very nice Photo gallery, clean and functional.
February 13, 2009 at 3:26 am #291023A Classic.
The site is clean and simple. Congratulations!
We also chose Ja-Rochea to our site, with some additions from other new staff.
Ja-Rochea for us is a classic JoomlartVisit us at FESNOJIV http://fesnojiv.gob.ve

Not sure what woohanetworks did not like…Maybe you have made some changes…It looks great now and looks very pro to me.
I live in the Beaver Valley and makes me want to hop into the car and come see some of your homes. Where in the Muskoka’s did you build the top house? I am always in Bala and Port Severn area every other weekend with the bike and buddies…IN THE SUMMER THAT IS:p
I would love to see the top image on the home page in person.
So are you the designer or the builder designing a website? LOL…Either way the site looks great.

February 20, 2009 at 12:24 pm #292665Mainly one thing, the site hasn’t changed by now and the logo is made of the JA Rochea Logo (and by now looks really awkward, sorry, but people look for constructive critics to enhance their sites from here and I would not look for only head ups but how to make my site look always better, sorry again, but this is what I understand as useful for a forum like that) and when you go to the about us page, you see the actual real logo of the company. Makes me wonder…plus the colors are not really inviting.
I do not know, maybe this is how it is in Canada, but I always learned that those are the professional homebuilder sites I learned to see as the standard for websites of that kind. And actually those are also easy done homepages, just a different approach though. Also just CMS sites…that is why I mentioned to use e.g. JA Edenite for that one or some other business related template from Joomlart.com.
—–> Could one easiely do with JA Teline II or JA Pyrite for example.
—–> One could use JA Rutile for example, this site is also nothing special but conform to the industry standards.
But you need at least the knowledge how to use Photoshop and some bit of CSS and PHP coding to rearrange some things in the layout and design, to move module positions or menus, to rearrange the site to something new. And this knowledge is crucial, or people will say why people even create sites when they cannot code or are not creative. And also therefore JA Templates are good, major designs do not need major prices in the purchase of the template on the developer side but people seem not to know yet, sorry. You do not need a IT Diploma to learn how to use such software or coding techniques, just some creativity and the will to learn. Especially customers will like it when a developer doesn’t just take a template and uploads some content without making the litte or big changes that make it, as the sizzle one feels when a site is good does not come only from the content uploaded or the size of the business, but only one little add-on can makes a site unique (should not be a module from the Joomlapool or new iconset, something made just for that one site) and gives this sizzle when you look at it but one has to know what makes the sizzle than and this you can’t be taught, that is right.

This is one is surely out of competition but I love this site a lot…;)
http://www.pronghornclub.com Oregon is known by the connoisseur as one top spot when it comes to Real Estate Developments.
But now do not tell me that that KBHome Site is not okay as Martha Stewart can be seen there, I think her muffins must taste really awsome, lol! Who does not know, she has also made some TV home cooking show, so do not just think I mean her pineapples or something like that, guys and gals!
