Hello,
I just upgraded my webside from Joomla 1.5.14 to 1.5.18, so I have now a new version of Joomla but an old from JA-Rutile. I have some problems with the IE 8
I tried this http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/notice-fixed-the-website-is-ugly-in-ie8/ and now following happend:
If I activate mod_janews_fp it looks horrible like (see image 1)
If I deactivate mod_janews_fp it seems to be ok (see image 2)
with the firefox i have no problems. (see image 3)

Do I have to update the template too? If yes, whre can I find a hint to do this without loosing the settimgs?

Sorry for my english, but this is not my mother-language.

Thank you very much. That was the problem! Iin one of the frontpage content was the “read more” with strong tags!

I am using joomla and I would like tu update to the newest template, but how should I do this without loosing all the settings?

But what about the changes (settings) I made? Is there a parser or something I can check the changes and do the update manually?

I think you can made the setting again easy , It is not too hard.
