June 6, 2011 at 6:51 pm #164898Hello:
I have checked this using Google Chrome and FireFox. Same result.
Problem: The slideshow seems to freeze on one image. When one mouseovers on the thumbnails to attempt to dislodge this error, the caption text for other pictures appears but the main picture does not change. Mouseclick or mouseover do not change pictures. Slideshow does not run through its routine as it should.
Thanks for your help.

June 7, 2011 at 7:16 am #395033Hello,
I have checked your site http://wpwolvesden.com/ with several browsers. It seems good & working nice. When the Mouseover and Mouseclick it changes the images. Please confirm If the issue is solved so that we can close the Ticket. Otherwise you can send screenshot where you are getting problem.

June 7, 2011 at 2:09 pm #395115Hi: Thank you for responding.
No, it is not working right still.
I worked on it a lot yesterday and got the images to rotate in slideshow, but now the Description for each of the images does not appear.
The way I got the slideshow to work at all was by removing the images included in the Quickstart install and by removing the .jpg from the syntax in the Description Parameters area (ex. <h3>YOU’RE IN THE DEN</h3>
<p>Welcome to the Wolvesden</p>I have the description set to “show description” with the description effect to “Move up and Fade” but it does not work.
Further it seems odd the Setting Resources for Images Folder installed with- images/stories/slideshow/
and that the Thumbs Folder installed with- images/stories/fruit/thumbsThanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

June 8, 2011 at 7:45 pm #395360I don’t seem to be able to explain this issue for someone to respond and help with it. I’ll try again:
The images and thumbs show up and rotate in the slideshow but the description does not “Move up and Fade” or appear at all.
Aside for a solve for this do you know if you can re-upload the mod_jaslideshow via ftp and try again?
I could sure use some help with this. Thank you.

June 15, 2011 at 7:16 am #396448Hi ejjomlart1,
I just checked your site, and I can see the slideshow running same as the template demo. I see the different text CODE2, CODE5… etc appearing with different images. If the problem is still not solved at your end, I will suggest you to cleat site cache and browser cache check the module again. If still the problem persists, please send me screenshot highlighting the issue, and update your site url, joomla admin details at http://support.joomlart.com/index.php?/Tickets/Ticket/View/74104 so that I can help you.

June 15, 2011 at 2:16 pm #396505First, regrettably I received no substantive help from staff or support regarding this matter which is regrettable in general and because I am a paying member of your club. This took me over a week to solve which involved too much stress on me and frustration for the people trying to use and enjoy the site. I solved it on my own by doing things over and over again. I re-installed the slideshow module, installed the updated module (which did not, does not work so its been disabled) went back to the old module cutting and re-inputting and pasting the html, etc. This incident speaks volumes regarding the need for improved documentation not only templates but included modules along with support the provides real solves not questions such as “did you get it fixed yet so I can close this ticket.” I think that Joomlart does some fine work on its templates- not perfect but good but the support is lacking in solutions. I am perilously close to posting this unfortunate experience in the Joomla reviews of Joomlart products as the product, club and support are not quite living up to their claims.

June 16, 2011 at 4:09 am #396588Hi there,
Sorry for the issues you had with the module. It could have been handled in a better way. You could have followed the userguide and confirmed the slideshow module settings as depicted in the recommended settings (demo site settings). I am sure it would have solved your issue.
As part of the documentation, we provide the backend screenshots of the modules / plugins /components, so that the user can refer the same while updating their site and in case of any issue, can use the same to revert back to default settings.
Another way to confirm if its a bug or not is by installing the quickstart on your localhost and check the same for the issue. Its pretty simple, if it works on the demo site, it should work on your site too and if its not working, then something is wrong on your end with the settings.

June 16, 2011 at 4:31 am #396589First, I resent you putting this module failure on my shoulders while not even bothering to research this specific issue or check if there is a support ticket on this. Had you checked, you would have seen that I did refer to the user guide and I did send screen captures of the module settings to the so called Support Ticket person who told me my settings looked good while providing no solve whatsoever. All that person wanted to know is if I fixed the problem so they could close the ticket. This treatment is deplorable to paid or unpaid clients who download your creations in good faith. It is not always the user making an error and to assume so is truly ineffective. You are charging some of the highest club subscriptions there are for Joomla templates and yet the support for these club memberships does not match the promise. As I have previously stated JA makes some good products (not perfect but good). However, the complex area of support service may not be up to snuff. Instead of shifting responsibilities upon the subscriber, you might consider shifting ground back to a help perspective. When you do that, all works for everyone concerned. No one is trying to make trouble for you when they have to use this forum. We are merely seeking help and without it, we are at a loss. Can you not understand that predicament and respond in manner that solves the problem? Please? JA has a great offering but with that comes great responsibility. There is a great opportunity to improve and prosper out of each situation. That success lies in authentic, effective support/help. Please Help. Thank you.

June 16, 2011 at 4:51 am #396595hi,
My reply was not the shelve the JA responsibility and as i said, it could have been handled in a better way (from JA side). What you had to struggle to get it work in the end, would have been pretty easy for the support to figure out and help with.
I am already working with the support guys to make sure such stuff does not happen again and i agree with each and every point you have made above.
A good product is useless if not supported on time.
