November 11, 2009 at 9:46 pm #323333Good the see JA are catching up and getting templates built on time. Well done for that.
This particular template is not to my taste but I am sure many will find it very useful. The megamenu has really been a great addition to the JA portfolio. This alone might even sway those using Teline III towards this template.

Trust me, login form is there. As on today JA Seleni looks much better than the screenshots above. JA Seleni demo would be worth waiting for.

November 12, 2009 at 1:45 pm #323389Hi Folks
Sorry to spoil the party but …

</blockquote>mmm … so does Telline III.
This does nothing for me, I could customize T3 to look like this in hours.
There are no new features, no new style, no new modules, nothing (oh, a few colour options, but then I’ve already changed the T3 colours).
Sorry, but when we went to 1 template per month, I thought JA were going to blow the other template clubs out of the water … they are not. They are just doing revamps of previous stuff.
Before the ‘well tell us what you want’ brigade get on their high-horses, I want something that looks NEW, something that blows my socks off, something that I can take to my clients, something that MAKES ME WANT to redesign all my current sites using the new template.
This doesn’t do it, last month’s didn’t do it either.
If you folks are happy to receive the same old, same old stuff month after month, then good for you, me, I’m not (this is a paid for service).
Rant Over.

November 12, 2009 at 3:21 pm #323409Hi quest!
Hope the rest of your week goes better. 🙂
While I understand and agree on some of your points I’ll reserve my final judgement until I see something more than a photograph.
But looking at the photo…I’m seeing a “Forum” tab…and in the right position it would appear as though customization has been expanded to include that area as well.
I might be wrong, as, again this is just looking at the image…but if those areas are indeed going to appear…then both would be a step up the development tree. And would be in addition to the JA Google Maps, Ja Compress, JA Translate, etc. that have also been released since the last template release.
So while some may be tempted to spank them for being off schedule a bit…they do seem to be cranking out an awful lot of new stuff.
Have a GREAT weekend!

November 12, 2009 at 7:59 pm #323430JA is working hard, if you look at the blog, there are quite many updates, not only related to templates but also regarding support issues.
What you see in the screenshot is the design concept, which is enhanced while development. For example, JA mega menu is not seen in the screenshot, but it has been implemented. Some more color variants are being worked out and would be announced along with demo release. Not everything designers design passes through the quality control and JA testers. Plus or minus, demo would be far better than screenshots.
Respecting what questb has said in his post, i dont wish to comment on his views. But JA Seleni is different in looks and frontend features, when compared with JA teline III. Yes, for him it may be few hours to revamp any template. I personally cant do that, most of us cant, blame it on my limited skills. But i feel i can use seleni for my College Intranet website for which Teline III is highly unsuitable.
JA in the last month has released one top notch GPL template (purity II) and kyanite I is coming out as bonus template, in addition to JA Seleni as routine monthly release, which i am sure will be ontime.
Some significant steps last month:
- Bug report and project management shifted to new server and open to public.
- Forums have been enhanced to offer possibility to raise support tickets straight from posts.
- All templates updated to J 1.5.15.
- Bug fixing and new version release undertaken for purity ii, kyanite ii, JA Sulfur.
- Mega menu enhanced over the period. Kyanite I delayed for want of more features, thus kyanite II was developed and released.
- CSS sprites implementation improved with more areas covered.
- Right to left language implementation.
It would be highly unfair to say that nothing new is happening with JA. There are guys demanding Kyanite I, as they are not impressed with Kyanite II. On a personal note Teline III is a waste, as i cant use it anywhere. To meet the taste and demand of each and every member would be technically impossible, I am sure everyone would appreciate that.
JA has overworked for the past 2 months for the changes and i presume it does reflect.
May be JA can be encouraged to go on with good work. Anyways, no offense meant. Peace
Arvind

November 15, 2009 at 11:21 am #323603Same as last month. Nothing new, just average quality. I’m very dissappointed. There is no life in those new templates, all looks the same. Last good template was Halite cause it was something new and fresh. JA staff saying that they doing alot of work. Agree, but not doing good visual templates recently. You took from us one template per month and gave us nothing in return. I don’t know what happend with you guys.

Better be careful dissin JA like Chris, that they’ll use it as an excuse to ban you from the forums as they hate criticism and take all your accumulated credits and cashed in memberships like they did me 🙂

I strongly disagree. We respect Members opinion and I dont see anything offending / abusive as such in Chris post. He has full right to air his displeasure.
i am not sure what happened with you Mr. Shanny50. I am sure banning you or anyone is the hardest step to take.

My comment to Chris was tongue in cheek, I was critical of Ja methods as member ShannonN, and was banned after being an unofficial moderator at one time racking up an enormous amount of helpful answers to ppls questions, only to be banned for free speech, so your comment ja respects ppls opinions is BS, I had my support stopped 5 mths before my dev membership was up due to a forum ban this was illegal as the only way to get decent support here is via forum for paid templates,
I then could NOT answer questions to increase my accumulated 5,200 plus credits to cash in for a dev membership which was my right under terms and agreements with JA, then to my disgust the already cashed in and pending 12 mths dev membership was cancelled due to the ban even though I had answered loads of questions made tutorials etc to actually earn them, yet 2 dev memberships I transferred to a Ja member have not been cancelled …. Let’s look up the word discrimination shall we?
MY opinion and advise to members be very careful JA does not honour their own terms of service and will kick you out without compensation at will

November 17, 2009 at 8:09 am #323905I think half the problem here is the PREVIEW POST itself. It worked before when JA used to preview the upcoming template with a couple of days to go to show things were at least on time.
This new way of showing the template weeks before release is simply allowing these types of argumentative thread to grow.
You can’t really tell how good or bad a template is by showing the preview, so why not simply revert back to the old way? -
