Nice retro art. Not sure, just an idea .. but maybe it would look better if you dont use the slideshow module in the middle. These are only two pictures anyway so you could include them as single images as well. I find such (big sliders) a bit distracting.

Thanks for the suggestions. I felt the same as you did but the client insisted on a slideshow and would add more pictures later. I imagine the slideshow would look better pushed to the left with text wrapping around it. What do you think?

Yes, I can imagine that it looks better then. This way the slideshow would be a bit smaller and not so dominant. Too many moving elements on a frontpage can quickly become disturbing. Since there is already the productscroller I wouldn’t use a slideshow at all. I can imagine that a small image gallery that the user can activate if wanted (similar to the gallery in koniga) would have an even more interesting effect.
