November 13, 2012 at 1:31 pm #182203OK, here is the deal: JA University comes with the “JA Side News” configured to display Joomla articles. However, I need it to display K2 Articles instead.
However, when I change to K2 articles and choose the category I want to use, the URL from the JA Side News is different from the URL from the blog itself.
From the front page, when I click the article I get:
http://mysite.com.br/index.php/component/k2/item/29-article-name
However, when I am in the K2 sample blog and click the same article I get:
http://mysite.com.br/index.php/blog-name/item/29-article-name
I need that JA Side News point to “blog-name” and not to “component/K2”. How do I do that?

November 22, 2012 at 12:04 pm #473925Thanks, I have just PMed you with the credentials. I am afraid I cannot send FTP account, but if you tell me what to do, I will do it.
EDITED:
I can see what is going on now. The link that results in what I want has the menu item id appended to it. However, from the Side News does not append this ID to it and I don’t know how to accomplish that. any hints?

November 22, 2012 at 2:13 pm #473941HeR0,
I managed to solve the problem via htaccess like so:
RedirectMatch /component/k2/(.*) http://www.epirus.com.br/blog-epirus/$1
By writing part of the URL, it will redirect to the section I want and avoid the problem with duplicate content under the same site, with different trees.
I don’t think the template is doing that, although you say it is… but it should.
thanks

November 23, 2012 at 2:43 am #473972Hi Cmart02,
Glad to here that you have fixed that issue. However, pls check out thread http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja-side-news-more-info-links-broken/ . Hope that can help you resolve that issue without using redirection.

November 23, 2012 at 7:55 pm #474052To be honest, I did not understant the idea of an invisible menu. After all, the Blog Menu points to the exact same category as JA News. Is this a better solution than redirect?
