Hi,
I have got a problem with the ja_sidenews module. First of all here is my system:
Joomla 2.5.4 stable
PHP Version 5.3.6
Module ja_sidenews 2.5.2
Template JA_PuresiteNow here is my problem. I am using ja_sidenews to display articles from a category. Those articles have all an image in PNG-Format.
The PNGĀ“s use transparency. JA_sidenews cannot display the transparency. Instead the module shows the image, but instead showing the transparent sections as transparent, it just shows them in black color.
I have tried with JPEG’s and of course there is no Problem. The PNG’s are showing up correct in the article itself with transparency but not in the module. This is the Image displayed by ja_sidenews:
This is the original Article Image showing up correct:
Any suggestions about this?
PS: I cannot give a link to the site, because its running locally on my server at the moment. I hope the screenshots are enough tho.
Thanks in advance,
Ralph- Stork11 Friend

Can you send me your transparent PNG file for my testing? Because I don’t face the problem when I check with my PNG image on my local site.
Best regards.

Hello Ralph,Please delete below style in “/templates/ja_puresite/css/template.css” file at line “.article-image {“:
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #000000But if you delete this style, image background won’t look clearly when you hover your mouse on the image.
Best regards.
May 16, 2012 at 10:49 am #453265Hi Nhat Nguyen,
well, thats not a really good solution for me. I wanted to have it transparent.
If you have a closer look at the template background, its not clearly white, it has got a slight gradient.
Otherwise i would just replace the transparency of the background with an image from the backgroundcolor of the website. The module scales down the original image, so there are always different backgrounds depending on where the image is being displayed (because of the gradient). So is there no opportunity to let the image showing up with a transparent background?. That clearly would help me a lot!
Thanks and regards,

Hello Ralph,It’s not a problem of JA Sitenews on JA Puresite. It’s your customization request. In default, it has a mask with an icon to link to article details when you hover your mouse on a transparent thumbnail.
Best regards.
