I need to remove grey background from the slideshow area. Please see attachments. I have installed another module instead of JA Slideeshow 2 ( because of PHP ). Where I can do this change?

please open the file templates/ja_sulfur/css/template.css and find the following code

#ja-slideshow {
background: url(../images/topsl-bg.gif) repeat-x left bottom #454545;
border-top: 1px solid #353535;
clear: both;
display: block;
float: left;
margin: 0;
position: relative;
width: 100%;
z-index: 1;
}

#ja-slideshow-inner {
background: url(../images/sl-bg.gif) no-repeat center top;
}

you change background for the background property at both above rules
