I would like for the slideshow module to only appear on the homepage. It is appearing on the top of the articles as well.
Thanks for any direction.

Could you post a link to the site please? There may a number of reasons – and luckily an equal number of solutions!
First question to ask while you are doing that is to check that it is only set to appear on the homepage – Module Manager / Slideshow and check which menü items it is assigned to. (Bottom left of the page)

March 21, 2012 at 11:05 pm #445015Thanks for your response. The link to the site is http://imaginetlg.com/fushsia. This is my first experience with 2.5. It seems to be slightly different to work with in this area. I have only the home page checked in the slideshow module manager. I am confused about how you format the article page. Do you have to disable the position somehow?
Thanks Again

March 21, 2012 at 11:27 pm #445017Slideshow is set to appear on the home page. As you have no other menü items that you can assign articles to, the only place is home page so naturally the slideshow does what it is told and appears on this page!
You may want to create new menü items called for example ‘news’ or ‘latest’ or something like this where you may have stories or news about certain subjects or featured articles. Much as you may create in Articles Manager specific categories i.e ‘Rules’, ‘Under 6s’ etc.
Then you can assign the article to this category and to the menü item. As this will no longer be the ‘Home’ the slideshow will no longer appear.
You can assign whatever modules you want to this menü or ‘page’.
I hope that makes some sense. Having never used 1.5, I only know this format of Joomla as it is carried over from 1.7 and I don’t know how the terminology differs.
As you are new to 2.5 I suggest that you install akeeba backup so that if you have any problems you can restore your site quickly.
Hope that helps you some. If you have any questions just ask. There are lots of people here who can and will help.

March 22, 2012 at 12:09 am #445019Thanks Greatly!
I added a category page and that does just what I needed. I have to noodle on how just adding that page forces the front page articles to drop the slideshow module. But for now I am happy.
Thanks Again.
