I have checked your issue on our template and saw the same.

For your idea, please open file templates/ja_sanidineii_light/css/ja.slideshow.css, at about line 24, find following script:

#ja-slideshow-case {
border:1px solid #000000;
overflow:hidden;
}

and change to:

#ja-slideshow-case {
border:1px solid #000000;
overflow:hidden;
margin-left: 10px;
margin-top: 20px;
}
