July 23, 2009 at 10:13 pm #142959Hi,
I’m using JA_Slideshow in a Joomla! 1.5.12 site and it doesn’t work in IE6 on Windows XP pro. I’m just getting a black screen where there should be pictures.
It works fine in IE7 and Firefox on XP Pro, and in Firefox and Safari on a Mac OSX Leopard.
I tried searching the forum for a solution but wasn’t able to find one.
Any help given is appreciated.
Thanks,
Railerdaylin Frienddaylin

August 5, 2009 at 12:06 am #313219Hi Daylin,
Thanks for your reply.
After not finding a solution that would work in IE6 on my site, I ended up installing RokSlideshow, which did work in all browsers.Guess this thread can be closed.
Best,

August 31, 2009 at 1:50 am #315766Once again the “solution” is … go and use someone else extensions cause Joomlart extensions just suck…
Come on Joomlart ! WAKE UP !

Hi,The link to RokSlideshow — a free extension from Rockettheme — is here:
RokSlideshow download…As for amejat’s blanket comment, that certainly is not what I was saying. In fact, I had been using JA Slideshow before on the 1.0.15 version of my site. When I migrated to 1.5.x, then I had the problem, but the issue may have had something to do with my server configuration or problems with the core or additional extensions. I just didn’t have the time in my budget to spend on finding what was causing the problem. Yes, I did upgrade the Joomlart extension during the migration.
In general, I’ve found Joomlart’s extensions to be very good.

August 31, 2009 at 3:39 pm #315876Even if you did not say it… I say it.
First, lots of issues with Joomlart extensions are NEVER answered by the Joomlart team.
Second, when a solution is found (usually a coding mistake from the Joomlart team, cf User5 and JA_Cs in JA_Tube), the patch is NEVER applied to the template meaning that people waste time going throught the forum and changing the code.
Third, most of the time, trhe quickest and safest solution is NOT to use Joomlart extensions but to use other developers extensions.
Just go through the forum and you will see that these three points are just right.

August 31, 2009 at 3:42 pm #315877Not to mention that one of the reason why Joomlart went from two to one templates per motnh was officially to be able to “maintain” the existing ones…
It seems that “maintaining” templates does not mean fixing known issues.
Honestly, with the arrival of Joomla 1.6… Joomlart will just crashed.
