December 29, 2010 at 12:54 pm #369135A bit disappointing since the themes it is advertised/supplied with…boast K2 integration.
I bought JA Socail for the design/K2 integration…can’t say I’m not disappointed.

December 30, 2010 at 4:46 am #369285HI adurst,
JA Social supports K2 and the same is highlighted in the last menu item of the JA Social demo.
Supporting 3rd party component not necessarily means that, each and every extension will also support the same. Though we have updated most of our extensions to support K2 too and over the period we are upgrading our remaining extensions also for the same.
Template integrates with K2 or JomSocial or Virtuemart >> means, it has special style for these components, not feasible to re-develop the complimentary extensions to support all the 3rd party extensions.

I agree, this is very disappointing.
Are there plans to integrate slideshow with k2?

April 19, 2011 at 8:24 pm #387143The problem here is that K2 does not use the normal Joomla database system. It uses it’s own database tables and structure making it very difficult for this component to be modified to support K2. It would take quite a substantial amount of work to make this possible.
Ther are some K2 specific slideshow components available in the JED that should fit the bill though.
April 19, 2011 at 8:28 pm #387144Phill,
Thanks for the explaination though still when a customer pays $400 or so for a 1 year membership they kinda expect a template that features K2 support to have the modules work wiht it too.
I have looked for about 1 hour in JED with no luck. If you can point me to something that will support K2 articles and K2 videos I would be very appreciative.

April 19, 2011 at 9:02 pm #387149As Arvind says, not all components can be made to work well with K2. It is mainly down to the way K2 works. I understand it is a pain. Most other ccks use the normal Joomla content so it would work. The template overall does support K2 well.
Try this maybe – http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension-specific/k2-extensions/12405
I do not use K2 myself so it is hard to recommend anything.
April 19, 2011 at 10:26 pm #387156So the brilliance of K2 is it’s actual downfall too? Seems there is no winning. 🙁
I thank you for taking the time to respond. Not everyone does, and for the suggestion. I will check it out.
March 16, 2012 at 4:09 am #443909Its now March 2012. Is there any update on when your extensions will support k2?
Rockettheme has extensions like Rokstories that also use K2 content.

March 16, 2012 at 7:36 am #443939Sadly JA SLideshow will not support K2 but many of our other extensions do. You can still use the from images feature and link to articles but as far as I am aware there are not plans to add a feature to JA Slideshow that will pull articles directly from K2. Setting it up with the “From Images” method will work.
Many of our other extensions will pull articles from K2 such as the JA Content Slider.
March 16, 2012 at 7:40 am #443940Bummer. I can’t find “JA Content Slider”. Do you have a link so I can check it out?

March 16, 2012 at 8:14 am #443943It is not a slideshow sadly. It can be seen in the Kranos demo amongst others. The JA News Featured can also pull from K2 as seen in the Teline IV demo.
I did ask the devs about makind JA Slideshow work with K2 and sadly it would take a major re-write but we do have the option to pull from images and link to K2 items so from the users point of view the functionality would be the same
